A 270-Room Hotel Could Be Planned Across From Resorts World

Mandala Holdings is planning a 270 room hotel in Miami, according to their website.

The hotel is set to open in 2020, and will be flagged with a top-tier, institutional brand.

Mandala  purchased an 11,700 square foot lot across from Resorts World Miami in 2016, and has been working on approvals since then.

A pending application with the FAA lists a tower height of 580 feet. Mandala representatives have also discussed building a Courtyard by Marriott with city staff.

i actually think that genting probably wont happen for at least 4 years …its also quite possible that voters will dictate the future of gambling soon if a referendum is placed on novembers ballot.if voters turn down expansion then genting will sell…make a profit and the lots will become condo/rental/retail…..whatever goes there will be beautiful

i live next door at venetia….so glad to have this happen…the venetia is so perfectly located but suffers from such low resale prices that any major development jumpstarts the potential for venetias recovery….still…i dont see how a building that size fits on that lot..but hey…hope it actually happens soon

I lived at the Venetia for years and share your thoughts exactly.

270 hotel rooms in a 580ft building should mean that the rooms are going to be very nice in size. Also, if opening in 2020, we might be seeing them start construction in Nov/Dec 2017, or in the first quarter of 2018.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that a Marriott would open at this location. Either way it will be nice to have a hotel right in front of the Metromover.
