Four New Lobbyists Registered Yesterday To Represent Resorts World Miami

Four lawyers registered yesterday (March 4) with Dade County as lobbyists representing Genting’s Resorts World Miami.

  • Javier F. Aviñó, a Partner in Bilzin Sumberg’s Land Development & Government Relations Group
  • Albert E. Dotson, Jr., a Bilzin Sumberg partner who represents real estate developers in securing land use, zoning and other government approvals and permits for large-scale real estate developments
  • A. Vicky Garcia-Toledo, a Bilzin Sumberg partner who focuses on land development, land use, zoning and government relations
  • Rena Kelley, a Bilzin Sumberg associate who focuses on land use and zoning matters

Genting also announced a deal today to bring the Hilton flag to Resorts World Bimini. Genting’s Miami hotel at the Omni is a Hilton.

Now is the time to lobby the FL legislature and lobby them hard, on the issue of resort-style casinos with full-spectrum, Las Vegas-style gaming options. This year the state’s agreement with the Seminole tribe expires or will be renewed. All can benefit if this is done right. The Native American properties and reservations can have full-fledged casinos and resorts as well and in turn, private interests can have giant resort casinos, top name entertainment and all the other perks that come with that. In addition, the state can and will realize a dramatically new or expanded revenue source, which in turn can be used to lower the tax burden on other sectors of the corporate community and Florida residents in general. No other state in the nation is more geared for destination resort casinos than Florida, even though the industry has made inroads already in dozens of other states. The stigma of the past against casino gambling has all but completely vanished and the presence of casinos in downtown Miami will not in any way damage or alter other types of business growth and economic development. Yes, but this should further spur more interest from Chinese buyers/investors. That market is this cycle’s only hope to continue…and an overall crucial part to turning Miami into a global city

Obviously, I absolutely agree with every word you say,and every comment you make.We have very similar view about Miami present and future.IIt’s just privilege to reside in a city which future is so bright and certain. Miami destiny is to become WORLD class city and all these developments are just beginning of that process .Massive public transportation program is next.Miami-Miami Beach METRO projects will be the bigest ,no just in Miami history,but in Florida at all.

I believe the movie makers are patiently waiting for Miami’s new transformation where their cameras will be showcasing what should’ve always been the real move mecca of the south, MIAMI.
