Martin Margulies, a luxury condo developer, has secured an $80 million loan from U.S. Trust to build a 70-unit, 24-story tower, called the Bellini, in the exclusive Williams Island area of Aventura, a northern suburb of Miami.

Mr. Margulies, 74 years old, didn’t get a construction loan. He got a personal loan secured by 59 pieces of modern art from his extensive collection, which includes works by Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Cy Twombly and Jasper Johns.

Bellini Celebrates Record-Breaking Condo Sale in Aventura

Deal surpasses $760 per square foot, highest in Aventura since 2008

We’re proud to announce Bellini Williams Island—Martin Z. Margulies‘ newest development and one of the few new residential towers currently under construction in Miami—recently recorded the sale of a 2,600 square foot unit on its 23rd floor for more than $760 per square foot, marking Aventura’s highest condominium sale per square foot since 2008.

The buyers, a European couple, symbolize the growing interest among international buyers wishing to capitalize on favorable exchange rates and the ability to own a brand new condominium in one of Miami’s most desirable yachting and tennis communities.
