Genting Breaks Ground on $4 Billion Resorts World Las Vegas, Will Target Chinese Tourists

In Las Vegas, Genting held a ground-breaking ceremony yesterday to mark the start of construction on a Resorts World casino resort.

The $4 billion resort will be Chinese themed, and Genting will be targeting the growing number of Chinese tourists to the U.S.

The project’s first phase will include a panda exhibit, a 7.5-acre indoor water park, an aquarium, and a replica of the Great Wall of China. It will also include 3,000 rooms in three hotels, a 4,000-seat theater, and a 175,000 square foot casino, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Genting’s plan for the Omni site and former Miami Herald property is still under wraps, although company representatives have been meeting with county officials recently.

Tacky. Hopefully they won’t bring things like this to Miami…

Say what you want, but while Miami is running around with these “ugly ass low class third world looking” trollies, Vegas is eating our lunch.

Would be another downtown destination. That main building looks sharp. Obviously there’d be more density in downtown Miami than the Vegas strip.
