If you normally drive to Heat games or other events at the American Airlines Arena, parking will now be harder to find thanks to Miami Worldcenter.
Beginning with a Maná concert today, several area parking lots that were formerly used by arena patrons are now permanently closed. Site work for the Worldcenter project is underway on those properties, replacing the lucrative (cash) surface parking lots that were there for decades.
Next week, contractors for Worldcenter, including Suffolk Construction, Coastal Construction and Tishman Construction, will hold a job fair on Overtown where they will try to recruit construction workers for the project.
