Nonstop Miami-Tel Aviv Flights To Be Announced By American Airlines Soon

American Airlines will likely soon announce new nonstop flights between Miami and Tel Aviv, but the exact date has been in flux due to the conflict in Gaza this summer.

A source tells exMiami that the company had planned to make the announcement sometime this month or in October.

The Miami-Tel Aviv flight, along with a New York-Tel Aviv flight, will be operated by American Airlines aircraft and crew, even as a flight from Philadelphia to Tel Aviv continues to be operated by US Airways aircraft. The source stressed that nothing is actually confirmed until the flights are publicly announced by the airline.

Tel Aviv is the busiest transatlantic route from Miami without nonstop service.

Has AA settled the old TWA issue that kept them from launching Israel service in the past? Or is it a non-issue now?

From what I understand, their merger with US Air is what allows them to add the Tel Aviv route.

Interesting. Miami makes complete sense, but there are a lot of flights between the New York area and Tel Aviv – as many as 7 daily during the summer months. Seems like a pretty saturated market. Why not start a Chicago-Tel Aviv route or even a Dallas-Tel Aviv route, where there is no competition? American has hubs in both places.

More Jews in Miami that’s why.
