Publix and TJX Sign Leases At River Landing

The River Landing megaproject on the former site of the Mahi Shrine is back on, apparently.

Both Publix and TJX signed leases last month to open stores there, according to documents obtained by TNM. TJX is the parent company of TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Architects and engineers had filed liens against the developer over the summer, but the newly executed leases are a sign that those issues are close to resolution.

Other stores that have pending leases include Ross, Dick’s Sporting Goods and a Hobby Lobby, DSW or Burlington.

In addition to the 426,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, the project is proposed to include two towers with 475 residential units and 2,200 parking spaces.

Just what Miami needs.

It’s what that area needs.

Another grocery store? Absolutely. The Overtown/Allapattah residents in that area don’t have many options. The new grocery at the AAF site will also be nice.

you’re right. miami’s obsessions with palm trees is borderline insane. go to any of the best parks, walking areas, outdoor shopping districts and the trees/sidewalks/parks have actual trees …with actual shade…that actually provide significantly lower temperatures. miami design district is another joke. palm trees everywhere..who wants to walk in a concrete jungle in the dead of summer.
