100-Story Waldorf Astoria Now 72% Sold, Will Break Ground This Quarter

The 100-story Waldorf Astoria tower planned in downtown Miami has reached 72% sold and will break ground this quarter, its developers announced today.

It will become Florid’a first ever supertall, with a height of 1,049 feet above Biscayne Bay.

It took just 9 months to reach the 72% sold milestone.

“Miami is booming and quickly entering a new development cycle, and we are thrilled to be part of the Waldorf Astoria Miami’s legacy, which will forever transform the city’s skyline,” said Ryan Shear, Managing Partner at developer PMG.

The Waldorf’s developers say that 55% of buyers are domestic, specifically from the Northeast, California and South Florida, and 45% of buyers coming from outside of the United States.

The top international markets include Mexico, Russia, Colombia and Turkey.

The tower will include 360 condos, and 205 five-star hotel keys. There will also be amenity, restaurant, and ballroom space.

Groundbreaking for the supertall Waldorf tower is scheduled for Q1 of 2022, with completion in 2026.

Records show that a construction permit to begin site work by foundation contractor Keller is in review by Miami’s Building Department.

TNM, please provide a list of all towers in the pipeline for 2022 like you did at the start of 2021. Also, it would be good to know the total of housing units (condos & rentals) that will be added in greater downtown Miami over the next several years.

Need someone to make a scenery package for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Would be epic. Brickell City Center isn’t even finished in the default scenery

His currency risk must be a massive headwind and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has to fold if the lira keeps tanking while cost inflation rises simultaneously

I know but precisely, he should capitalize on this venture in dollars.
His profits will be massive at the current exchange rate

Okan would’ve looked better at the Waldorf site in my opinion, excited to see both rise simultaneously in the skyline.

That’s awesome first building over a 1000 feet… How come other buildings have to ask permission to just go to 900ft… Miami needs a vision to compete…There 2 lots left next to freedom tower on Biscayne ave… Miami needs awwwmazing architecture..

For a super tall this nice it needs to be sitting on entrance of the Miami River.

A bit of advice for the new Waldorf building. Ditch the ugly black glass exterior. It’s sooo in-Miami. Use something light and shiny

I was surprised to see Mexico mentioned as one of the top international markets. Also, I thought all the Californians were only moving to Texas.

It would have been sold out if the architecture wasn’t stacked boxes and it wasn’t next to a Holiday Inn Express.

Do you realize the architecture of this super tall is what makes it great? I cannot believe you enjoy ugly short stucco boxes littered all over the city skyline.
