12-Story Apartment Building With Ground Floor Presidente Planned In Little Havana

A developer is proposing a Presidente Supermarket with a 12-story apartment building on top.

J.A. Valls development is planning to build the project at the corner of Southwest Eight Avenue and Flagler Street, in East Little Havana. It is about a fifteen minute walk from the Miami Beckham United soccer stadium site.

In total, 96 units are proposed, along with 311 parking spaces. The supermarket will be sized at 27,815 square feet, with additional space for storage and other retailers.

Design Tech Incorporated of Miami Lakes is the architect. The plans are set for review by Miami’s UDRB this month.

This is interesting. This location is probably one of the best for proximity and access to Downtown and Brickell. Ideal for those who say they want to get close to Downtown and Brickell for work and play but cannot afford the luxury prices downtown. Walk or bike downtown to your job. Walk to Beckhams soccer stadium and Marlins park with grocery store downstairs at probably half the price. This neighborhood has a lot of potential if done correctly.

300 spaces for under 100 units and a small presidente is overkill.

More parking space for the Beckham Stadium up the street.

I live on the next block. I won’t necessarily shop there but this is great for the neighborhood. It’s been a huge vacant lot for as long as I can remember. This was going to be Magic Johnsons workforce housing before.

Wonderful to see a market other than Publix. Im so over Publix. Its way over rated and they have really lost the touch.

As far as the area is concerned, its still edgy but huge potential. The building is nothing out of this world but OK for the area. Why is evryone so concerned with parking spaces? The most innovative building in Miami is Centro. Done with no parking in mind.
Love it

Another mixed-use Presidente at 27th Avenue and 54th Street: https://www.miamidade.gov/RER/Track/zoning_show.aspx?proc_num=A2015000037

Neat because Little Havana. But not impressive at all.
