14th Street Tower Getting Taller, Submitted For Zoning Review

Plans have been formally filed for a tower near the Arsht Center, and it is now taller than initial renderings.

According to the June 6 filing requesting zoning approval from Miami-Dade, the tower is now planned to rise 30 stories, or 353 feet.

In an April filing by the developer as part of a pre-application meeting request, the tower height was listed at 27 stories, or 319 feet.

The number of dwelling units remains the same as previously planned, at 283 units.

The project team includes 14th Street Miami Investments, LLC as the developer, RSP Architects of Miami as the architect, Kimley-Horn as both the civil engineer and the traffic engineer, Urban Robot as the landscape architect, and Bercow Radell Fernandez Larkin + Tapanes as the land use attorney.

.

Renderings from April showing the shorter height. Only elevations have been filed with the new taller height, but the design appears similar to the original renderings:

another good addition to the area. Will be nice living in this area over the years as its very close to metromover. Will be great if they extend up to Midtown and then youll be able to get around the core fairly quickly

Assuming it doesn’t break down and isn’t full to the brim with hobos. It would be easier walking if the streets were well landscaping, something you can’t get with a giant Metromoober flyover.

Metromover sucks.

Yeah! I don’t know what exactly is going on with Metromover, they say is some type of rebuilding, but Metromover is a mess right now, there are a lot of delays. I had to wait for 15 minutes inside a train before the train got off the station, the train just wouldn’t move. Another day, after waiting for the train to go to Brickell for more than 20 minutes, they told me there was a problem with the train and I had to take a UBER. Another day I tried to go to a Heat game from the government center and the only train working took me to Brickell before taking me to the arena. So now I just walk or take Uber, I don’t take metromover anymore until they fix Metromover, right now metromover is a total mess

It will have great views of the signature bridge. Units will go fast.

until the lots around it are developed. Probably before the bridge is completed. You don’t own your view

Still a box. If they want extra height, make them articulate it towards the top, and put a spire on it or something.

huh, what? wait a minute
