not forward thinking, mall of america has been in decline for years, and unless these new amenities keep it afloat mega malls in the boonies are not succeding like they used to.

I agree. Top priority is a mall in the everglades! Maybe they should move this next to the airport out there.

Love it or hate it, it will get built and i’m almost positive you all will be there to enjoy it. Don’t think of it as just another mall it’s a theme park as well something that will be welcome. This place won’t just be built for adults but for kids to come and enjoy themselves. People just give this thing a chance It will do more good than harm an If they don’t succeed why are you worried about it? You didn’t Invest a dime into it!

The public will be investing whether we like it or not. The developer will claim they are paying for road improvements but the truth is that the taxpayer will be on the hook for road/transit to this project for years to come.

Well, I am a kid at heart and I plan to be skiing there at least once a month. I would never leave South Florida, but I used to ski as a kid and loved it, now I get to do it again without leaving the Magic City, best of both worlds!

Hmmm… Malls are struggling across the country. Let’s build a bigger one!

I wonder how many on the thread applauding Miami World Center’s “switch” to high street retail are also on here “betting” that this gets built.

Only two floors? Granted, two huge floors, but even though this is suburbia on steroids – a mall – I would expect by the same token people not wanting to walk 3/4 mile from one side to the other. And the parking decks are huge, thousands of spaces per level, but no way they also will be only two levels?

To be fair thumb downers, I am asking for more floors and as much density as a mall can offer, but with that the notion that two mall floors would usually equate to at least four parking levels due to high floor heights.

Question. Does anyone know why the ski dome is called ” International ski dome ” ? Why International ? I’m really clueless and curious. Thanks.

Interesting. They changed the location of the luxury hotel to the front center and the ice skating rink which was in the dead center is now moved to the far right. I also noticed the submarine ride which they mentioned there will be sharks to view, now also has water skiing in that same section. Have you seen the movie Jaws part 3 ? lol. Where they water ski at the Florida amusement park and that big shark is right behind them. Yea, I think I will stick to the “dry” entertainments for my own piece of mind. haha.

I think it’s funny how anonymous works for the project and doesn’t shut up talking about the project.

So glad this project has created so many jobs. Hope more buildings like this one pops up and more jobs are created. Just look at all the people who will be imployed when this is finished. I bet dollars to donuts they’ll be happy. Good job guys, keep up the good work and don’t pay any attention to the nae sayers.

It’s going to happen, and current area malls will either adapt or die. And I’m fine with that. Malls are quite awful.

But this one has a ski slope, a water park and a theme park. It will be built.

Right? I don’t think the Miami area is large enough to support another mega mall. With Brickell City Center being built, and Aventura expanding, do we really need this?

Anonymous

You don’t think. But you do realize millions of tourist come to Miami (And Ft. Lauderdale) each year. Plus the South Florida population is expanding.

You folks are naive, this scream pipe dream that will never breakground.

Where is the pixie dust, how about flying unicorn, oh and maybe it will have a space shuttle ride that takes you to the moon. What a joke, that rendering looks so fake.

Just about everything the metro area does *not* need.
