20-Story Emblem Tower Proposed Near I-95 In North Miami, With Carlos Ott Design

A developer has submitted plans to the city of North Miami to build a 20-story apartment building called Emblem Tower.

Emblem Tower is proposed to include:

  • 139 luxury multifamily rental units
  • 9,989 square feet of ground floor commercial/office space
  • 239 parking spaces in a 4-story garage

Carlos Ott is the conceptual consultant, with Frankel Benayoun the architect.

Blue Road and GCI are listed as the owners/developers.

The North Miami Planning Commission is scheduled to review the proposal on April 5.

The NW 7th Ave Corridor is perfect to have a light rail connecting the new Intermodal center at Golden Gate with Downtown Miami.

Not enough density, 77 and 277 (express) is good enough for now.

Right along I-95? I’d rather see it along Biscayne Boulevard, where redevelopment is more feasible. Coastal Link will connect Golden Glades, whenever…

1-There is a 35 F Height Restriction in a long portion of the BB Corridor imposed by Mr. Cruz and The Morningside Mafia.
2-NW 7th Ave has plenty of vacant lots that can be redeveloped, plus the street is wider than much of the BB corridor.
3-The Brightline and the TriRail will run parallel to the BB corridor.

I’m actually surprised that Carlos Ott would do unimaginative architecture. Other than the fact they are nicely sized balconies, the design is lackluster and moreover; it’s been done before

Repetitive architecture is what you’ll see in huge cities around the world.

stop they think Miami has to look like dubai without the sewage connections and extra dirty cheap labor like dubai has. Also the majority of those dubai towers have parking garages, something they claim they hate to see here.

Dubai has a selection of fantastic and super tall towers. So far, no other city in the world has matched Dubai in terms of the grandeur of the towers. I don’t quite understand why you think people want the buildings in Miami to be the same as those in Dubai.

Its on 7th ave not facing water on the beach or the bay. Not every tower has to be extra, majority of high rises in shanghai, tokyo, hong kong and NYC are more basic than this.

Love the idea of a northern downtown right next to I95

Can all the people with all the great constructive criticism quit their current job and get a degree in architecture so they can show us what a perfect design looks like? Doubt that career would last too long though… matter fact, nvm. Keep your job. This building looks amazing. Can’t wait to see it built.

This building looks chaotic… balconies are doing too much

No pleasing you people. All the loved skyscrapers in the Northern Cities had their share of annoying haters too, but ask anybody today and they wouldn’t replace them for nothing. This building would look great and add a sense of variety to the city. “Too chaotic”, ridiculous.

It looks like every other Arquitectonia building? What “variety” are you talking about? If it was actually variety, you would complain it’s “pseudo-something.”

Small triangle balconies are impractical for furniture. Regular square/rectangular balconies are a millions times better and are a much cleaner look

Interesting location for such a project 🤔

Well North Miami wanted to redevelop this area for a while now. Six years ago they were trying to build a China town, so expect alot more large developments will come to this part of 7th Ave.

The sawtooth balconies are a mess. Would look much better if they were streamlined.

so you would like it like every melo building ever

Anonymous

No, Melo irregularly throws balconies on their buildings like Swiss cheese. This is second worse, like Arquitectonica.

It’s North Miami. There are not many architecture gems in the Bronx either.

Except with ugly balconies? Everything wrong with architecture nowadays. Take a boring box, and claim it has “personality” and “piazzas” by sticking on some ugly balconies.

I admire the boldness of projects that are out of the ordinary, but this one, specifically, did not please me very much. It looks like a crooked building.

honestly not that bad on 7th ave and the traffic moves faster than i95 during rush hour.

Not anymore if that piece of junk is built. Miami is being destroyed month by month with all these towers. It’s starting to look like NYC w all the traffic. Damn this place was paradise. It’s gone now

Enough with these stupid luxury buildings already. The majority of us want a small house with a back yard. Keep that garbage in South Beach or Brickell.
