Eight months of work on the record-breaking foundation at One Thousand Museum will culminate with a twenty four hour concrete pour this weekend.
Contractors building the foundation were forced to install pilings at unprecedented depths to account for the forces created by Zaha Hadid’s complex design for the structure, the developers have said.
With the foundation finally complete, vertical construction work on the 62-story tower can finally begin. The first of two tower cranes were installed at the site over the past week.
The concrete pour will be televised, developers announced. A watch party is also scheduled for August 21.
