3-Story Commercial Building Proposed In Wynwood

Moon Thai has filed plans for a 3-story commercial building in Wynwood.

The project is proposed to include 33 tables on the ground floor, 17 tables on level 3/4, and 10 tables on an activated rooftop.

No new parking is required or planned due to the small size of the building.

The design uses materials that is said to evoke Wynwood’s industrial past, including aluminum window and door mullions, aluminum shading features, and dark grey stucco and concrete.

Steel panels with plant material are planned for screening, as well as murals by Miami-based muralist/artist Dreps.

Future Vision Studios and M3 Design + Development are designing the project.

A hearing before the Wynwood Design Review Committee is planned November 21. The project was previously submitted for review in September, with revisions now made to address comments.

Can’t wait for when all these neighborhood are so expanded that they will connect so you walk from Brickell to Wynwood through Worldcenter without ever feeling a gap❤️

Great! Another parking lot building where people are going to drive or Uber to get to and not spend anything because it’s too expensive to even get there, and block up the already congested roadways there.

A Metromover connection would go a long way to helping that. I’m disappointed there aren’t crews working on it right now, as always Miami will take another 5 multimillion dollar studies before acting.

I’m disappointed you think giant flyovers the height of these buildings for your free electric shortbus, ruining the walkability and streetscape potential of all streets it runs along, will solve connectivity.

How is it ruining the walkability? It’s enhancing walkability, because you can actually walk there. You mean it’ll improve your version of what’s aesthetically pleasing, but that means something different to people, and most people find them visually pleasing.

better carry a gun loooooool

You’re safer if you do not. People who carry guns are more likely to associate with other people who carry guns, making aggravated assaults more common among them.

This is very dope. Wynwood has the potential to become one of the most unique neighborhoods in the country. Just need to expand walkways and add some shade trees as the summers there are brutal.

So is most of spring and early fall. You can’t walk it during actual summer in the day without melting into the pavement.

Natural shade and grass can reduce temps by over 15F. This is why Coconut Grove feels better in the summer vs most places with no greenery.

In Wynwood, we prefer graffiti instead of shade trees.

Buty the grid.
Cancel parking requirements for buildings
Encourage wider sidewalks
Double the size of the Walls
Plant shading trees
Expand Metromover to the area

could always just have graffito on like ..the walls around the city? make it a whole Wynwood cultural style instead of sectioning off more areas for no productive purposes? Just an idea 🙂

What’s the point of improving streetscapes when you’re just going to run Metromover through them? Otherwise, it’ll look like hobotown along 1st Street south of Flagler.

Actually it’ll look like the Underline, and be an awesome park in Wynwood which has no parks and will be a hot concrete ghetto without it

As your next mayor, I will make each and every one of these happen, and I always keep my promises.

Actually, little Havana and riverside have that potential. Wynwood is too far out of the way.

Why can’t it just be wynwood? It doesn’t have to be the most unique in the country. Make it efficient for cars, pedestrians, and a mix of attractions, plus housing and commerce, and it will succeed.

If there’s one thing we know, Miami isn’t likely to do anything on a world-class level. It’s about lining commissioners pockets, not what’s best for the community. Get out and vote people.

You hyperbolic folks need to leave. You’re not helping anything.

So Wynwood, so dope!

It’s actually called Little San Juan, and people are being displaced for this junk.

It was called Wynwood before Puerto Ricans moved here, are no longer the predominant population, therefore is now Wynwood again.

Where did they go? I hope they preserve some part of Little San Juan. There has to be a history and community there right?

Why do people think when an ethnic group moves away from a location that it’s somehow an injustice? Cities have evolved and changed at every point in history. Wynwood could be the next Little Thailand for all you know.

The 12 story height restriction is the best thing planners have done for Wynwood. It encourages a ton of development and keeps the cost of land down

Wait until it becomes too expensive to buy land and the community is stuck with concrete affordable housing

Also why Riverside should be kept at mid-rise; a transition zone between the core and suburban areas, as contemplated by Miami21 and New Urbanist principles rather than some genius’ wet dream on here.
