32-Story Metro Edgewater Begins Vertical Construction

Vertical construction is now underway at the 32-story Metro Edgewater tower.

Photos posted by shell contractor L&R Structural Corp. show that the tower’s foundation is nearing completion.

Metro Edgewater is being built next to the Paraiso Bay complex, and the developers say it will serve as a gateway to the neighborhood, with a pedestrian experience that encourages Paraiso residents to walk to Biscayne Boulevard.

A pedestrian promenade will be lined with retail, benches and shade trees. There will also be a cross-block pedestrian passage linking 31st Street to 30th Terrace.

Metro Edgewater will include:

  • 279 apartments
  • 4,230 square feet of retail
  • Approximately 300 parking spaces

Apartments in the building will be targeted to millennials and young professionals, the developer previously told Miami planning officials.

The tower will top off at a height of 373 feet above ground.

Burgos Lanza is the architect.

All of them you can find. Even the invented ones.

It’s ridiculous. I never thought publishing 4 articles a day could take SO MUCH time to necessitate the amount of breaks they take. Geez

With no explanation either…at least tell your readers Whats up.

It’s obviously a part time gig for someone. A very, very part time gig.

Two homëlēss man were shöt last night at Museum Park. When are we getting homëlēss out of there??? WHEN??? Add lights, remove homëlēss, add security and make the park safe for all of us residents who live around it.

It would be enough to add bars on those benches/beds! Then add some security and more lights. I see they are building something, a dog park or kids park, not sure. This will bring in more people and more trouble, if they don’t make it safer!

I think it’s a dog park, which means lots more people will come to the park. Maybe as soon as some rich white family gets shot or robbed, they’ll clean up the area.

Ferrè Park is beautiful and with more people using it now, it’s time to clean it up!! Families walk their kids here. Are we waiting for a bigger tragedy to happen before we do something???

They city needs to add a carousel, more security, lights and some food trucks to activate the park at night

Anonymous

I hope something fancier than a food truck or carousel but I agree.

Edgewater has huge potential, but we need more public transportation, traffic will increase substantially, we need walking distant restaurants and bars. I don’t want to have to go all the way to wynwood to get a drink with friends

I love Edgewater for the views of the sunrise/Miami Beach and it’s quite and luxurious vibe. But definitely lacks life, whether scare in parks or restaurants this is all because most of the streets are dead end and it’s not a walkable part of the city

It would be nice if we could sign up with an email and get alerts of when things are posted. It used to be very consistent but lately it’s been nothing but so it would be nice to know what and when to expect it.

When you sell your project as something that “encourages Paraiso residents to walk to Biscayne Boulevard,” maybe their was something wrong with Paraiso… like maybe the fact it’s four cereal boxes separated from the rest of the neighborhood and any potential is has, by parking garages spanning entire blocks?

Anonymous

most of these are pretty plain…and that trashy lobby of paraiso??? density hoes love this crap…how much of this building will be occupied?? i bet 1/3….as with many around the area…sorry folks google bought a building in NYC a city with better schools and better mass transit and better events of all kinds…

If you colored this brown, it’ll look like the 70s. When gray goes out of fashion it’ll suck for this building. But still a beautiful design.

Have you heard of this new invention called “paint?”

Anonymous

no… describe it to me

Anonymous

Because every building can’t be painted white.

Anonymous

The only thing it has going for it is that it fits into the gaping hole that is Paraiso’s single-corridor-loaded rear.
