Vertical construction is now underway at the 32-story Metro Edgewater tower.
Photos posted by shell contractor L&R Structural Corp. show that the tower’s foundation is nearing completion.
Metro Edgewater is being built next to the Paraiso Bay complex, and the developers say it will serve as a gateway to the neighborhood, with a pedestrian experience that encourages Paraiso residents to walk to Biscayne Boulevard.
A pedestrian promenade will be lined with retail, benches and shade trees. There will also be a cross-block pedestrian passage linking 31st Street to 30th Terrace.
Metro Edgewater will include:
4,230 square feet of retail
Approximately 300 parking spaces
Apartments in the building will be targeted to millennials and young professionals, the developer previously told Miami planning officials.
The tower will top off at a height of 373 feet above ground.
