Edgewater Marriott Expected To Obtain Permit Within Months

The developers of the 33-story Bentley Edgewater hotel confirmed that they have signed a deal to operate under Marriott’s Autograph Collection brand, according to Miami Today.

Construction could begin soon. Marriott is cooperating on final constriction design and documents, and a permit is expected within months.

The project includes 207 hotel rooms and 190 parking spaces. Previously, the developers have attempted to sell the units as condos, and it isn’t clear if those efforts are being abandoned.

On level 33, a rooftop terrace with a restaurant is planned.

Kobi Karp is the architect. Karp told Miami Today that the grid-like design of the facade “emulates the street grid of the neighborhood.”

Very cool design
Way to go Kobi Karp. It fits perfectly for the area and the views of the Bay, Design D. and Midtown will be gorgeous.

Kobi Karp doesn’t have the best reputation design wise, but lately they have really been bringing it. this is a spectacular project.

I could draw something within seconds better than this piece of crap box with ugly facades. “Street grid of the neighborhood” my ass.

The scale of the exterior renderings is off. The pedestal of the building is just as wide as 6 cars. The building would have to be a lot larger than it is shown.

Ten Museum Park 2.0. Looks good regardless.

pretty good eye, did not make the connection at first, but yeah, really similar. considering how those 2 architects hate each other it’s kind of funny.
