358-Unit Apartment Building Planned Next To New Brightline Boca Station

Plans have been filed for an apartment building next to Brightline’s new Boca Raton station called Modera Boca Raton, according to the SFBJ.

It is the latest example of development planned near the Brightline tracks.

Modera Boca Raton is planned to rise 13 stories and include:

  • 358 apartments
  • 6,502 square feet of retail
  • 469 parking spaces in a garage

Mill Creek Residential is the developer.

Corwil is the architect.

Can’t wait for all the rich 70 year old nimbys to come out against this since they have nothing better to do

I certainly would. Boca has embraced modern architecture recently, but this is cheap and nasty irregular balcony designed, even by Corwill standards in Miami.

Boca is a glorified gated suburb with the average home being so far out of reach of the average working professional that its only residents are those at the last stage of life. If you want to complain about architecture of all things, please drive down Yamato and comment on the thousands of single family homes which belong in 1999.

Boca residents need to stop this crap in its tracks.. 500 sq ft boxes with windows in cheapest building made . No set backs. Breaks about 5 ordinances. Right we have transients in 300 apartments hanging around. Sure no drugs. School issues. We got a council controlled by developers. We need change and soon.

Boca is probably the most unafordable city in South Florida, this kind of development is badly needed for young professionals if Boca ever wants its economy to remain competitive. There is zero chance “drug users with school issues” will just be hanging around luxury developments that will likely have rents in the 3-4k range.

If it’s next to the train station, that would mean it’s for people who work in other towns. Why does Boca need to import low income residents who work in other towns? Our schools are overloaded, classes are over the max already.

Why assume they’re low-income? Rich people commute too, you fucking idiot.

The above comment is all over the place. Elect better school board officials to handle budgets and access properly. You seem to be asking a question while providing insight into your positioning. That question again needs to be addressed at your local governing level, and you hold the power to elect these officials in your district. Obviously, your local governing body sees potential in these “transit oriented residents” and are welcoming them.
