36-Story Guitar-Shaped Hotel Rising At Hard Rock

At the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, a massive 36-story guitar-shaped hotel is rising.

It is the largest hotel project currently under construction in the Miami area.

Contractors recently won approved to install several cranes at the site, the tallest of which will top off at 549 feet. The proposed work schedule runs through September 2019.

Signs posted at the site state that completion is scheduled for 2019.

When completed, the new tower will have 800 rooms, bringing the total room count at the resort to 1,273 rooms.

An expansion of the casino area, shops, and a new $100 million pool area is also planned.

Will be right on time for the Superbowl. Hard Rock should offer shuttle bus services to Hard Rock stadium.

I believe him. Some people on this site seriously believe Metromover should be extended outside the scope of its intention serving the greater downtown area.

Someone got it.. maybe I forgot the sarcasm tag.

There is jut no pleasing the masses, this site is complaint-central about boring architecture and that everything looks like cement boxes. Well, here it is! Something that is most definitely not a cement box. I personally like it, it is something different.

What about a funeral home in a shape of a coffin.

I am pleased this eyesore is in Broward, next to the turnpike – where shitty architecture belongs.

So does that mean that they can forget about you ever visiting or spending a night there?

Yes. I don’t support Native American Casinos.

To continue the theme, they could add a convention center that looks like someone vomiting into a toilet.

And you could design and have someone construct a mirror that looks like you shooting yourself in the head every time you look at it.

I don’t get the complaints. This is the perfect design for such a tacky hotel/casino.

Does anyone know the height for the project? We should have more projects like these spread throughout the Miami area so we can eventually make the Miami area one that looks like Tokyo or Sao Paolo.

Applied with the FAA to build up to 461 feet tall i think.

That sounds good! Hopefully they start making more casinos in the area like that size. If the casinos can’t be built in Downtown, build them in Broward. Distribute economic centers across the metro area to make it one huge true metropolis.

No City needs a Guitar Shaped Building!

That is why we can’t wait on you to come up with that kind of money or vision.

No need to wait here is one, let’s make buildings in the shape of….a building!

What shape is “a building” exactly?

It’s obvious you’ve never been to either Tokyo or São Paulo. First of all, Miami will never look like either city. And, best of all, neither city’s buildings look as tacky and kitschy as that guitar shape thing.

Of course not the buildings themselves, I mean densification across the entire metro area. I want to see the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach areas become a huge dense city with hundreds of skyscrapers and thousands of low-rise buildings.

Both of those cities have plenty of tacky buildings and Miami is on its way to being São Paulo looking with unless white buildings being built. If they start neglecting the paint and not repainting them every five years they will end up look like São Paulo.

this Hotel is build with the money of the poor souls who believe they can beat the house…just look at the guaranteed payments of the Seminoles to the State of Florida. This money comes mostly from low income people.

Wow, you must do a lot of gambling there or frequent it quite a bit to know that most of their gambling money comes from “low income people.”

You must be either a lobbyist or working there.

You must be either a disgruntled gambler or got kick out of many casinos for trying to bet with no money.

the strings need to be taller to make it look more like a guitar.
