Photos: Construction Site Of 40-Story Tower In Downtown Miami

Photos by Phillip Pessar show the downtown Miami construction site of the 501 First tower.

Groundbreaking for the tower took place in December 2022. The foundation was poured in July.

The 40-story tower is being built without a parking garage.

It will include 448 residential condos allowing short-term rental, along with 3,198 square feet of retail.

The ground level is being designed with wide sidewalks and greenery to provide shade and a usable pedestrian space.

Revuelta is the architect.

Aria Development Group and Aqarat are the developers.

I love that historic building they are renovating across the street

Any idea of what that will become? That would be a great location for Time Out Miami.

A Starbucks Reserve there would be 🔥

A museum should be there

Museum should be in Brickell. Downtown has enough and they’re too clustered together

People in Brickell would rather have a condo tower apparently

Agree with @ymous or @duh..either a Starbucks Reserve or a Museum would make a more urban city. Don’t really care for food courts er “food halls” I think that train left the station a few years back.

Downtown is finally becoming a real downtown and it will soon be the heart of Miami!

Downtown is so competitive 💩 why are they so jealous of Brickell? Work with us.

I thought you’r mantra was downtown will never be as great as Brickell and should give up.

In Brickell, we want to support downtown, but it’s challenging when they become overly competitive and monopolize public funds. We also require improvements here; let’s aim for a more equitable distribution of resources and love. We can all shine together, and I’d love to see Miami be more cohesive and United.

There is a hold on the project from the head building official with the City. No reason given.

That is a cool looking shear wall in the second photo..love seeing the structural elements highlighted. (Yes, I’m a structural engineer and would love to see more than just the architectural stuff shown).
