$45,000 Bottle Of Scotch On South Beach Store Shelf (Photo)

At the Fifth & Alton complex in South Beach, Total Wine has a $45,000 bottle of scotch on display.

According to the label, the single malt scotch was distilled for 50 years at The Balvenie Distillery starting in 1963, and bottled in 2014. Only 128 bottles were made.

There is also a 50-year-old Highland Park at $20,000, and a $19,000 Dalmore aged 38 years on the shelf.

In the same shopping complex, there’s a TJ Maxx and Ross Dress for Less – a hint at just how clueless most retailers are about the Miami market.

I don’t get this comment: “In the same shopping complex, there’s a TJ Maxx and Ross Dress for Less – a hint at just how clueless most retailers are about the Miami market.”.

Are you suggesting TJ Maxx and Ross don’t belong here?

What on earth are you talking about? People who are actually wealthy love shopping at Ross and TJ Maxx. That’s exactly why you can find them in high income areas of Miami Beach. Hell, you can find them in Beverly Hills!

My parents are rich exactly because they don’t splurge at Gucci for all their clothing.

Clueless? The TJMax and Ross are very busy.

Make sure that in the next street shooting they don’t brake the bottle!!

Yeah, those itchy finger Miami Beach cops are known to shoot up the place.

Not really, I used to live there before the hip hop culture invaded the town in 2000 and I bet that there are more crime than a few itchy finger cop!
And don’t blame it to the bars open until 5am, they used to be open during the 90’s
And don’t blame “large crowd” the winter party, the gay pride, the Art Basel etc they all brought large crowd but no crime and no itchy fingers cops at that time

And don’t blame the beach open and now close at 10pm because we never have assaults so often

But I guess nobody wants to talk about the elephant in the room and better talk about a 45,000$ dollar bottle of whiskey that the rapper in the penthouse next door will buy and drink with his friends while the neighbors complain about the noise and nothing happens
Thank God I could afford to move to Brickell Key

Yeah, and somebody needs to tell you, Ilovearchytectures, how raggedy your writing is.

Miami Beach cops are the true “gang of thugs.”

You most be one of those that wear socks depicting cops as pigs ( like the football player) but like to have your precious possecions including your life protected by them !!(;-)
And yes I suck in writing
But I watch the news and still see how this South Beach trendy place is turning in to a Getto, a glorify one !

Um no, I’m a person who has seen them in action. I’m 6ft one inch tall and weigh 250Ibs, I don’t need a cop to protect me, punks do. That’s why every time you see a black person you think “Ghetto.” Face it, you’re just a racist little wimp.

Would love to see statistics on cop violence on south beach versus “civilians” assaulting and robbing in the last 17 years
And also get the opinion of business owners and locals that are working as “vigilantes” to keep what is left from the time we used to walked the streets at night and feel save
And whashington ave didn’t look like 8 avenue en NYC in the 70’s, full of hookers
But I guess my raggedy writing and a 45,000 $ of whisky is more important

P.S
Three is some bad police , I agree!!

Bur statistically
For every police self defense shooting there is 88 shooting and death among civilians, specially in ridden crime areas, but that doesn’t matter, not even to the politicians that see more profit and media exposing the “bad cops”
” ( that in court is proven not all them are) than helping their own people from street violence !

Washington Avenue was a dump in the 1970s.

Please…just checkout how many times the city of Miami Beach police dept has been sued.

They are known to be just a “gang of thugs” with badges.

Are you familiar with the demographics of South Beach/Downtown? Average price of a condo/single family home and what type of income you have to have to be able to live at one of these places. I’ll tell you, the exact income you would need to afford a $45K bottle. Not to mention the many wealthy visitors and celebrities who may be staying at a nearby penthouse unit for the weekend and decide to drop coin on a rare bottle of whisky. As a fine whisky collector it makes sense to me. I regularly buy in downtown Miami and SB depending on who has a certain bottle available. Like you said, rare bottle, so if your looking for this bottle you will drive from around SFL or further to get it. You dont randomly walk in and decide to buy a $45K bottle, lol.

“You dont randomly walk in and decide to buy a $45K bottle, lol.”

I sure don’t. I get me a bottle of Canadian Mist and chill out, or if I wanna splurge, I’ll buy a fifth of Hennessy. I save about $44,968 bucks.

It’s not clueless. It’s supply and demand. Everybody needs booze to cope with the pathetic state of the retail industry these days, and Total Wine fulfills.
