46-Story BrickellHouse Left Without Parking After Robotic Garage Shuts Down

The robotic parking system at the 374-unit BrickellHouse has been shut down since last Tuesday, according to Nick Nehamas.

Boomerang Systems, which operates the robotic system, has declared bankruptcy, and is suing a company controlled by developer Harvey Hernandez. The $25 million suit alleges that Parking Source, a company controlled by Hernandez, has stopped funding Boomerang and is trying to poach employees.

Even when the system was operating, residents complained that it could take 30 minutes to retrieve their cars.

For now, building management has secured temporary spaces in nearby garages.
