55-Story Edition Residences Edgewater Launching Sales

A developer is launching sales for a 55-story tower called Edition Residences Edgewater.

Edition is a brand created by hotel operator Marriott and Ian Schrager.

However, the new development will not have a hotel component, the report said.

Edition Residences Edgewater will have 185 condo units. Prices will start at $1.7 million.

Eventually, a total of three towers are planned. However, it isn’t yet known if the remaining two towers will have the Edition brand.

An older condo building called Biscayne 21 will be demolished to make way for the new development.

Two Roads, which also built the 57-story Elysee and the 51-story Biscayne Beach in Edgewater, is the developer.

Arquitectonica’s Bernardo Fort-Brescia is the architect.

The best thing about this is that the builders will have to complete their portion of the Baywalk, which is a big section that is currently missing. As for the buildings themselves, they look okay, but the 2 side-by-side towers look like a massive wall.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. All the developers that are building right on the bay are taking up all the views. Talk about being greedy, everywhere else you have to leave space open so your neighbors across the street can have a peek at the water, but no, not here. I bet all these water view condos are already going to the friends of the builders.

The bayfront tower is aight, considering what’s it’s replacing. But the goatse twin towers? If you require further proof Arquitectonica isn’t even trying anymore… I mean, you can’t spell it without “quit.”

Can’t wait to see that horrible eyesore Biscayne 21 gone! It‘s taking up such a prime location and has no place in 21st century Edgewater. Good riddance!

Define “21st century Edgewater.” Giant cigarette boxes with no architectural merit along the bay, with parking garages taking up the blocks behind? Dog poop galore? Every time it rains it floods?

So so right and well said, a long tall cigarette box

A sleek, glass cigarette box beats the shanty-looking Biscayne 21. Sorry.

This new building is gonna be a lot fancier and more expensive–this is the trend. Are you gonna be able to afford the new replacements?

Oh it’s such an eyesore….

Fast forward a few years:

Oh there’s nowhere I can afford to live around here….

I live at Aria on the bay near by, and I cannot wait for this. Finally, that corner of the Bay Walk will be complete. The buildings are simple but beautiful. It blows my mind people are complaining about this..

I wonder what happened to owners of Biscayne 21 condo that is being demolished. Did they get a killer price to justify losing amazing views or do they get a new unit at a significant discount?

The remaining owners of units in Biscayne 21 received excellent buyouts from the developer.

I live at Biscayne 21. Owners got crazy good offers well over market rate and the majority accepted them

I wish they stayed on.

“Prices will start at $1.7 million” Probably for a 1/1. Crazy expensive.

brand new what front condo, and they could be a building with two buildings to penthouses without one bed rooms. looking at the unit count of 185 it might not have one bedrooms.

1/1 with 1900 sq feet

Sounds like any city-dweller’s dream apt. People criticizing this are jealous.

1900 sq feet is huge for a 1/1

Where does it say 1900 sq feet in the article?

Perhaps rather than having the two buildings side by side, it would have looked better to angle one; then it would not look like “a wall.”

An eyesore being demolished for 3 eyesores to be built. Why is it that an architect is needed for these?

Bernardo Fort-Brescia is the go-to “un-architect.” Why do you think Related and Melo love him so much?

I live in 1800 Club and this giant wall will block out my entire North View of the city and the some water just like Grand did the same for the city and Bayside marina view to the south.

Excuse me mr 1800 the Grand has been there since 1986, it. Didn’t block your view. You bought or rented a unit with an obstructed view.

I live in 1800 Club too and couldn’t disagree with your assessment more. Biscayne 21 is such an eyesore! This new building will enhance our property values and will make our view even better. Can’t wait for more like it.
