710 Edge Gets Demolition Permit After Obtaining FAA & UDRB Approval For 649-Foot Tower

A developer has activated a demolition permit at the 710 Edge site in Edgewater after obtaining Urban Development Review Board and FAA approval to build the 58-story tower.

The 649-foot tower will be built at the maximum height permitted in Edgewater, and will also feature a rooftop helipad.

The Federal Aviation Administration approved the height of the tower on October 14. The approved height is 646 feet above ground, or 649 feet above sea level.

Plans for the project also got a recommendation for approval from the UDRB on October 20, according to Miami Today.

A demolition permit to clear an older house from the site was approved on November 1, and activated on November 3.

710 Edge will have 70 residential units.

It will also include another 9-story structure across the street, mostly for parking.

The development group includes partners who also developed the One Thousand Museum tower by Zaha Hadid in Park West. The architect for 710 Edge is ODP, which served as the architect of record at  One Thousand Museum.

Fantastic for the city skyline. I don’t see a problem that this new building bears a beautiful resemblance to the One Thousand Museum. Still, it’s much prettier than the square buildings at Grup Melo.

More or less

I’ll take it over a box on a parking pedestal. Too bad it’s not likely setting a standard, with its resemblance to 1000 Museum only because some same people on its development team.

Excellent news about this project. I love it. Developer seems extremely interested in getting this done. Nowhere but up going forward everyone! We’re becoming similar to Metropolis. Hehe

Beautiful slender tower, I like the Hadid influence.
And more bay walk.

Parking in another building? Even as it’s across the street, this is a deal breaker. I want my Bentley in the same building.

I believe there will be a bridge connecting the apartment building to the garage building. If there is, that’s fine.

Garage is a terrible use of land.

Also! 9 floors of parking for a 70 unit building?

On the contrary, I think it’s a better use of land to build a skinny parking garage next to the blank wall of an existing mid-rise than Related’s Icon Bay low-rise garbage garage taking up chunks of blocks.
