Two TV Studios announced deals last week that will bring thousands of new jobs to Miami.
Viacom said that they would begin production at the newly completed EUE/Screen Gems Studios down the block from the Arsht Center in downtown Miami. Production will begin in Januaray, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs, the local CRA director told the Herald.
Viacom International Studios already employs 150 people in Miami. The company has a local headquarters on Lincoln Road, which will remain.
Separately, Univision announced a new 40,000-square-foot lease of office space in Doral last week. The company already has significant office and production space in Dade, which totaled 310,108 square feet of owned space and 133,139 square feet of leased space as of last March.
