A Fleet Of 750 Revel Electric Rental Mopeds Will Soon Hit The Streets Of Miami

Revel, an electric moped sharing company, will soon launch in Miami.

The company has been selected by the Miami Parking Authority from three bids to launch a shared moped company, according to Miami Today.

A total of 750 mopeds will be located at MPA parking spots throughout the city, including Brickell, downtown Miami, Midtown, Wynwood and Coconut Grove.

Rides cost $1 to unlock and 25 cents per minute, according to the company’s website. A one time screening fee of $19 will be required, for a drivers license and background check.

Top speed of the moped will be 30 miles per hour, and helmets will be required. A helmet case with two sizes is unlocked by the app and disposable hair nets are provided inside, according to the company website.

The MPA will share 5% of revenue, under the agreement. Revel was one of three bidders, with the MPA choosing the winner earlier this month. The company will open a warehouse and hire 40.

Electric scooters I hope. We need less cars also and more bikes, scooters etc. and better public transportation. That’s where the future of big cities is, let’s leave cars to small towns.

These are all over Brooklyn. They are registered motor vehicles and riders are required to obey all rules of the road. It is changing the way people commute and get around in otherwise congested areas. People are ditching their cars and saving money.
