All Aboard Florida In Talks To Build On County-Owned Property That Has 1.9 Million SF Development Rights

At the request of commissioners, Miami-Dade county staff prepared a report on all county-owned properties in downtown Miami that have the potential to be redeveloped.

Just one of the properties identified is currently in negotiations with a private developer.

All Aboard Florida wants to take over 2.5 acres valued at $65 to $75 million next to the Stephen P. Clark Center. A child care center is currently operating there.

Up to 1.9 million square feet could be built, with All Aboard Florida proposing to build a transit multi-modal center for the county on the lower levels.

The report is scheduled to be presented at a commission meeting next week.
