Amazon Executives Visiting Miami Soon On HQ2 Fact Finding Mission

Executives from Amazon will be in Miami very soon to study the possibility of locating their second headquarters here.

According to the SFBJ, Miami leaders will host Amazon executives on an HQ2 fact-finding mission “within weeks.”

Amazon has already requested additional information from Miami officials. The company is also asking for confidentiality, Miami mayor Francis Suarez said in a CNBC interview.

Miami has a strong chance of landing HQ2. Regardless of Amazon’s decision though, the company is likely planning to do something in Miami, according to an expert.

Urban studies professor Richard Florida speculated in the New York Times that Amazon is likely studying each of the remaining cities for other expansion possibilities as well. “What is a better Latin America headquarters than Miami?,” he said.

It’s pretty brilliant, they already intended to open X amount of offices in certain cities. Even once the HQ2 dust settles, they can circle back to each city about incentives to open a smaller office.

Comments don’t sound promising for HQ2, but good to know they will still have a presence.

What better Latin American headquarters.

Richard Florida’s comments are pure speculation. No one truly knows what they plan to do. Hence all the secrecy throughout the process.

Mr. Bezos net worth increased by $3,931,200,000 since Thursday morning 9:30 am. Think about that…maybe he’ll buy my apartment at the Quantum on the Bay with unobstructed views of Biscayne Bay and the neighboring islands when Amazon relocates here. I install a nice back splash in the kitchen for him.

The DDA should put them on a yacht. It will be love at first sight as soon as they cruise over our beautiful waters and witness firsthand how impossibly beautiful our skyline is from the sea. No way they don’t choose Miami after a full day chilling at Elliot Key. Add some croquetas and pastelitos to the trip..BOOM..they’ll shut their Seattle operations and open a single mega HQ in Miami #MiamiAmnities #SaltLife

Miami traffic is not that bad compared to the cities up north like DC Philly or New York. I don’t know why ppl in Miami always say that the traffic there is so bad. I go there all the time it’s no where near as bad as DC.
