The developers of a warehouse project at Opa-locka Airport anchored by Amazon have signed documents indicating that the project could be bigger than previously thought.
According to a utilities agreement filed with the county last week, the new project will include 2,502,575 square feet of warehouse space.
In addition, a 132,197 square-foot office building is planned at the site, the documents state.
Previous reports have said that the developers are seeking $5 million in Miami-Dade county incentives to cover infrastructure costs, as well as $1.2 million in state and local job-creation incentives. Miami-Dade’s mayor has confirmed that Amazon will be the tenant.
The land is owned by the county and leased to the Carrie Meek Foundation, which is likely making millions by turning around and subleasing to the developer.
