American Airlines To Operate Up To 380 Daily Flights At MIA, Most Ever

American Airlines has announced plans to operate its busiest ever schedule at Miami International Airport this winter.

In total, there will be up to 380 daily flights on peak days.

A total of eight new routes are being added. They include:

  • Sacramento, California (new daily year-round service begins Dec. 20)
  • Portland, Oregon (new daily year-round service begins Nov. 5)
  • Buffalo, New York (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
  • Cedar Rapids, Iowa  (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
  • Lexington, Kentucky (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
  • Wichita, Kansas (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
  • Wilmington, North Carolina (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)

There will also be new flights to Governor’s Harbour, Bahamas. This will be the only flights to that airport by a U.S. airline.

Service will also increase to a number of domestic and international destinations for the late December to early January holiday season.

American is the largest airline at MIA, with service to 150 destinations.

AA says that it remains the only airline flying on 85 of those routes from MIA, despite increased competition recently from competitors.

Can we get the Paris route back please? It was so convenient. Without it, the only direct route to Europe is through Madrid, Barcelona or London. Tired of having to connect.

You can fly Air France. They fly twice daily to Paris nonstop. You can also fly French Bee a couple of times a week nonstop to Orly.

I flew the AF a few weeks ago but I like to stay with AA whenever possible.

Yes Agreed. London Heathrow is THE WORST connection. Happy I am not the only one who agrees.

It didn’t leave. It was just seasonally suspended because of lack of wide body planes. Resumes in October.

Thank God!
Now we need the other routes back too, like Rome etc.
Only 4 direct flights from an airport like MIA is crazy!

Thought it said something about the A380 at first lol. A380s are actually decreasing service as they were not as successful as planned, the economy of scale was countered by the wing span being too small because of limited airport infrastructure clearances, giving them poorer fuel economy..

I don’t have any grief. Thanks for your consideration. I do have a grievance against people alleging gentrification to be a bad thing.

wake up Miami

silly….CA has a lot more tech jobs and a lot more venture funds as well as a much higher educated population. Why do Miamians think they are the center of the universe? Miami is small, less than 500K ppl and the state ranks 27 in education, 28 in advanced education level with 11.4% with advanced degrees and a median household income of %55K. How can Miamians and Floridian be proud of that? The city and state will be too expensive and DeSantis prefers to pick cultural fights rather than solve real problems like affordable housing, transportation, insurance rates and policies, and energy issues.

The city of Miami is what you’re talking about “Mr.Educated”. I have never heard of anyone calling Miami small. We have a top 10 Metro Area in the nation. I believe 8th. Buffalo is small. Miami is not. Just for your knowledge, Miami is broken up into smaller cities that make up Miami-Dade County which has a population of more than 2 Million.. If you are fair and judge by the Tri-County area (Which every major city does, NY takes into account much more than we do) then we have a population over 6 Million.

No road, No rail, No future

And I can’t ride a proper rail from Downtown to the beach. Or from Brickell to Midtown. What an embarrassment that these “authorities” refuse to build anything (I’d take the West Dade Expressway at this point), or even the Gratigny Extension… Yet they do want the 100Ks of new residents, offices, retail, etc. The most backwards place on Earth could only think of unresstricted population growth while simultaneously BANNING any transportation or highway construction.

Bro dog highway construction isn’t banned they’re literally double decking a highway right now.

You do bring up a lot of good points though cost of living and such. How do you expect that to get better if we dont have higher paying jobs? We have the 4th largest public university right here in Miami. Don’t you think their is talent there? Yes, its not Stanford, I get that but doesn’t mean we cant foster that and grow that industry. However, your take on Desantis is a bunch of Leftist media crap… Disney picked a fight with Desantis not the other way around…. Since when have Demorats taken the side of a corporation over the government? Must be all that money disney spends on the media…

Anonymous

Even from the most charitable perspective, how on earth could one argue that Disney picked a fight with DeSantis? Please explain, I’m dying to hear this.

Do you think that the people who already live here are getting these tech jobs? A lot of companies that are moving here import their employees because Miami doesn’t have the workforce to support them. Simply moving here doesn’t mean that someone in tech support can instantly become a coder.
