American Airlines has announced plans to operate its busiest ever schedule at Miami International Airport this winter.
In total, there will be up to 380 daily flights on peak days.
A total of eight new routes are being added. They include:
- Sacramento, California (new daily year-round service begins Dec. 20)
- Portland, Oregon (new daily year-round service begins Nov. 5)
- Buffalo, New York (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
- Cedar Rapids, Iowa (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
- Lexington, Kentucky (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
- Wichita, Kansas (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
- Wilmington, North Carolina (new Saturday-only service Nov. 11 – Mar. 30)
There will also be new flights to Governor’s Harbour, Bahamas. This will be the only flights to that airport by a U.S. airline.
Service will also increase to a number of domestic and international destinations for the late December to early January holiday season.
American is the largest airline at MIA, with service to 150 destinations.
AA says that it remains the only airline flying on 85 of those routes from MIA, despite increased competition recently from competitors.
