Another Big Mixed-Use Project About To Break Ground In Wynwood After Construction Financing Issued

Wynwood Square has received a construction loan and is about to break ground.

Records show that construction permits are pending for both the foundation and vertical construction.

Also this month, the developers obtained permission for a water and sewer connection to the site.

The project will include:

  • 257 apartments
  • 54,000 square feet of office
  • 25,000 square feet of retail
  • 481 parking spaces (a reduction from minimum requirements is being obtained by payment into a parking fund)

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation provided a $71.2 million construction loan.

Stantec is the architect.

Cim Group and One Real Estate Investments are the developers.

This is a beautiful project.. time to activate this southeast section of Wynwood.. nothing currently there except for Kush a few blocks down.. but it looks like a lot of projects are in the pipeline.

Why are people complaining about parking in Wynwood? Have any of these people been there on the weekend? I welcome more parking and A LOT more apartments in this area.

I was wondering when that project will start, still awaiting for the hotel to start on that lot on North Miami Ave and 36st.

The lower part isn’t a parking pedestal, and it’s still the ugliest part of the building. Stantec fail.

From Loopnet (complete with the exact same renderings as presented here) “The site has approved plans for a neighborhood-defining, 12-story mid-rise project, Wynwood Square. This offers an owner the opportunity to transform the Property into a defining piece in Wynwood’ s rapidly transforming landscape.” #NeighborhoodDefining LMAO

Wynwood is like so ripe for hotel construction…

The reason the art started in Wynwood is because it was full of affordable commercial properties – it’s now unaffordable

There will be no more Wynwood the arts district, just Wynwood the business district. All of you boat shoes slip on yuppies can celebrate and roll up the pastel polo sleeves and crack a miller lite

Too many parking spaces.
Wynwood has a magnetic draw already. Leave the cars out, bring transit and let Uber/Lyft pick up the rest. Create a different walking experience. The beach provides little parking and yet the crowds are there because when there is a draw, people find a way to it.

The Beach has thousands of parking garages and street parking spaces.. go somewhere else to spread your anti-car/parking propaganda.

“Too many parking spaces.”

Um yeah, sure.. and I bet where you live you definitely don’t worry about the availability of a parking space for your car.

With all this parking being built they will soon have gridlock that Midtown has. Wynwood should have transit and bike lanes and less/no parking.

Well there you have it folks, parking brings “gridlock” and dodging bikes will fix that.

A lot of people in Miami are so smart.

So tell us what is and where can we find a “real” hipster area?

If you have to ask, you’re not a true hipster 😉

I’m not the one complaining and calling something “fake.” Apparently you don’t know what a “true hipster” is either so you can stop it with the blatantly clueless but pretentious attitude.

Nobody wants to be a true hipster btw.
