At Least 45 Condo Units Reserved At Okan Tower, Groundbreaking In Q4

How are sales going at the 70-story Okan Tower, one of the few condo launches in Miami this year?

Kasim Badak, CEO of Okan Development Group, told The Real Deal last week that 45 units have already been reserved by buyers in Turkey and the U.S. since the project launched in May.

The 890-foot tower will include a total of 389 condo and condo-hotel units. There will also be 294 hotel rooms managed by Hilton, which aren’t for sale.

Buyers are required to place a 10 percent deposit to make a reservation, and up to 50 percent will be required during construction.

Okan will break ground in the fourth quarter of 2018, with completion in 40 to 45 months, Badak said. The developer will self fund construction.

Update: The tower height is 890 feet, not 956.

I think it is going to happen. Forty five reservations is one month is nothing to scarf at.

My bad A. Nonymous, the word is scoff.

It is hard to remember because that is one very, very, seldom used statement anymore.

I like the visualization of scarfing at something.

Ya know, that wouldn’t be a bad idea… that way, residents in both projects would be spared most of the noise while construction is going on.

I LOVE this project — but what stop a developer from saying that there are 45 reservations when there are only 2. I’m only being dramatic for the sake of the point — do these numbers have credibility in most cases – at least close?

What stop your girlfriend or boyfriend from lying about you being the only person he/she has slept with since you’ve been together. Heck you don’t know… you just take their word for it.

Love to see the list of buyers. Haha Turkey? Sure just what Miami needs ,more international investors who offer nothing to local economy, but do pay taxes to city.Main street Miami is dying while international money schemes take over. Typical South Florida,Miami. History always repeates itself, sadly.#Miamicity #hippocrits
