Aventura Getting Inverted Pyramid Office Building By Architect Foster + Partners

Aventura is getting an office building with an inverted pyramid design by award-winning architecture firm Foster + Partners, with construction now set to begin.

The new office building is known as 3050 Aventura and is fully approved by the city.

The project will include a 12-story, 200-foot building with two levels of subterranean parking. Total office space will be 113,650 square feet, including a new bank.

Demolition of a Safra Bank on the site is now getting underway, according to a Notice of Commencement filed last week.

An affiliate of Safra Bank is the developer.

ODP is the architect of record. Plaza is the construction contractor.

I’d love to see a project 3 times taller in downtown / Brickell. This is a great project.

8 times taller…96 stories…!!

Nah, not efficient, a lot of wasted space on the lower floors.

Okay, turn it upside down, and put it on top of One Brickell City Centre.

I love what’s happening with the redevelopment of Aventura from the medical offices to building more density this will be a very cool city with its own identity very soon. Especially with Brightline adding a stop there

You must be kidding. Aventura is overbuilt as is. Traffic is already unbearable year-round. The last thing we need is more density!! You want to build more –stick to low buildings with more green space. Overcrowding does not make a city cool.

“stick to low buildings with more green space?”

Only blind people can’t see that low rise buildings causes a sprawling type scenario because they use up more ground space. Highrise buildings can contain many more people on a lesser ground footprint.

I totally agree, quality of life… this building might be cool but doesn’t fit on our neighborhood… unless they want to squeeze out locals who out this place on the map. Maybe that’s the agenda?

Meanwhile, Foster’s proposal in Brickell are two glorified boxes.

Demo? Really?

I thought the existing office building was perfectly adequate. Shame to demo it when other
sites exist.

The design is an inspiration if Freedom Tower in NY in small scale , same geometrical concept

A knock-off of the building he designed in Rio de Janeiro…

How do you knock off your own work? Architects always recycle designs, which adds to their brand.

The fact that its literally a tower in a parking lot is disappointing

Tower on a basement actually…just saying. Lol what do you prefer, a clunky garage podium? 😉

Very cool building. It is anything but sleek though. It is a bulky upside down pyramid. Yet again the authors of this publication are complete ignoramuses. 🤦🏻 They seldom get anything right. That being said, great architechure.
