Beckham To Unveil 'State Of The Art' Stadium, Team Logo

Beckham To Unveil ‘State Of The Art’ Stadium, Team Logo

We should be getting our first look the new name, uniforms, logo, and stadium plans for Miami’s new MLS soccer team by the end of the month.

Masayoshi Son, CEO of Japan’s Softbank, is now a partner in the team, according to the Herald. His involvement means that fans will be treated to a high-tech experience, including virtual reality and holograms.

A march to the stadium along the Miami River before games is also planned.

The ownership group is studying soccer stadiums around the world in detail to ensure that the new stadium will provide the ultimate fan experience.

Plans will be unveiled by the end of January, with the team to start play in the 2020 season.

And it only took 4 years to get to this point… And it will take another 2 for the team to start playing… Only in Miami. Thankfully Becks was patient enough to make it happen.

Even Norman Braman wanted a piece of that cake.

The team headquarters and soccer academy should also be located nearby.. in walking distance

What a fail of a comment.

No. Seriously, it’s a BAD comment. The soccer academy should be located within walking distance? Why on earth would you put that in the downtown area? That is tailor-made for a place like Doral. THINK, PEOPLE!

The location for their stadium is the best they could do. Land prices are very expensive in Miami, to be in walking distance to Downtown and Miami Central, on 10 acres of privately funded project, is AMAZING!!
This is great!

Well… having it next to Marlins stadium would have worked well, except Loria’s attornies had clauses that you couldn’t reflect sunlight or use oxygen from their airspace. In 200 years, people will say lawyers and legislators were the downfall of the USA as a superpower.

Note: Writer of above comment (myself) still salty that Miami lost the Orange Bowl and paid Loria to make money.

Please blow the bridge to Spring Garden. We are the last crumbs of the old Miami.

Speaking of old, some of those houses in there need to be condemned. They don’t look to be well kept at all. It’s an interesting enclave, though. But definitely doesn’t deserve to have the right to make crazy demands of the City/County/Beckham group.

Those houses are beautiful old Miami, they should be restored and preserved, best not to have every corner be some post structuralist monstrosity

Looks like finally happening! Will be good for this neighborhood.

The stadium itself is great, I just worry about that location. Is this really the best they could do?

Uh. Did you not follow along with the saga of them trying to get a stadium? They looked at numerous sites and none of them worked out. Aside from plopping this thing out way out west along the UDB and Everglades (which would’ve been a massive failure), this was definitely the best they could do.

I happen to think the stadium rendering could look MUCH better. I don’t think the latest version is good. Looks cheap.

This location is close to 95/395/836, Metrorail, Metromover, Brightline, and future TriRail stations. It is close to downtown and future corporate sponsors and suite owners. It’s close to the River.

Like at all sporting events there will be a large police presence. It should be pretty safe. This area of Overtown has improved a lot in the last 5-10 years. I see that only continuing. That said, I do think the Beckham group needs to work with the County to do something about Culmer Place Apts. That place is an eyesore and a place of crime. Fortunately for fans attending the game, there is no need to walk directly through/past these apartments when attending games.

Esta es la versión más estúpida y fea que eligieron, no hay belleza, la elegancia parece del pasado o de bajos recursos, me gustaba más el modelo de las olas.

They should call it Magic City FC or just Magic City. We don’t use our nickname enough.

Ok, so this Comment has nothing to do with this particular story, but I’m going to post this opinion wherever I can. So this means you’re going to see this quite often. Please forgive. And if you feel the same please pass it on till we see some results. Miami, world-class city/Third World Rd. Taking the construction out of the equation, I 95, in Miami -Dade looks like a dump. The landscaping is a disaster, the amount of garbage, debris, car parts, layer upon layer of absolute garbage piled onto the side of the road and off – ramps is absolutely unacceptable for a city that defines itself as a world-class. I Have complained to the mayor of the county, the Mayor of Miami, and the administrators of the southern region of I 95 but To no avail. So now I’m going to start posting this everywhere I can. There’s no excuse for this mess when the roads maintained by the county and the Turnpike authorities are spotlessl. When you take into consideration the millions of people that drive up and down I-95 you start to wonder what they’re all Thinking of Miami’s curb appeal.

March along the river through the human feces on the riverwalk and past all of the homeless doing drugs? Yeah, sign me up.

I hate this location, personally but it is what it is.

I agree. Soccer should be played in the Marlins stadium. That place needs all the attendance it can get.

Soccer in a Baseball Stadium? Now I know you don’t have ANY clue about soccer and dimensions. Did you mean Dolphins? ‘Cause the field size is similar to Football.

BTW: It’s Futbol or Football (like in England), Soccer is BS, and this country steal the name for a sport that is not played with the feet, smart.

‘this country steal a name’ [sic]. The English language belongs to no one and everyone who calls it their own.

The Miami Mako sharks and be done with it. Colors: sky blue and white with black trim. Logo: A mean looking Mako hitting a soccer ball with its tail fin.

You’re welcome.

Give me something like Atletico or Inter Miami (or anything else that would be unique to MLS). FC/United/City just seems played out.
