A New York developer is likely planning a big residential project on West Avenue in South Beach.
JDS Development Group has spent $41.9 million in the past several months buying up small apartment buildings and homes between West Avenue and Biscayne Bay, according to the SFBJ. In total, the developer has assembled 61,846 square feet of land, spread among 13 lots.
The assemblage has Biscayne Bay frontage, just south of the Waverly condo tower. Financing came from a a company that shares an address with Emmes Asset Management Company in New York. Just one lot remains to be acquired, according to the report.
JDS is a partner in the Echo Brickell and Echo Aventura projects.
