Brickell City Centre Now Charging $3 Per Hour For Parking; Metromover Link Opens

Free parking at Brickell City Centre has come to an end.

Starting last week, visitors to the retail complex are being charged rates that start at $3 per hour, with a maximum charge of $40 per day.

At the same time, shoppers can now access the mail from the newly rebuilt Brickell City Centre metromover station through a direct link that opened last week.

And the project lacks sufficient bike racks. I couldn’t find any this weekend. Only bike racks I could find where in the metromover stations.

While paying for parking to go shop and spend money doesn’t make sense and is annoying (for all tax brackets), because of the area they do need to charge. However, I feel that if you do go shopping or eat at the mall all stores should validate the parking (either free or reduced), but if you just use it to park your car and go out somewhere else then you should have to pay.

Regarding the bike racks, I do agree they are very limited, pretty sad actually. Not sure how the City approves the project and doesn’t care or worry to have the developer add more bike racks. Also, would be nice to have parking for scooters/motorcycles.

Just like I said. And now it becomes hard to deny that there would be some push for the station to be renamed BCC station, just like this article calls it.

This is a RIP OFF GREEDY will bite you back or maybe not because there’s no other option and people are stupid and pay! We were all lured at the beginning with ZERO cost to park. PEOPLE WHO SOP OR EAT SHOUD BE ABLE TO GET THEIR TICKET VALIDATED. THEY MADE THE PARK ANOTHER BUSINESS INSTEAD TO ACCOMODATE CUSTOMERS! THEY LOST MY BUSINESS with that kind of greedy attitude!!

Brickell City Centre is was not built for folks who need to work about parking rates

PENELAZING SHOPPERS WHO PARK LONGER (SHOP MORE)
Makes no sense – a discount for longer parking would tend to draw the shoppers in from all tax brackets. i do not see people doing christmas shopping there with time limitations on parking eating away at there christmas budget. So unless Brickell CIty Centre revises its parking fees shoppers would limit there shopping to 3 hours then leave the parking lot and come back to get the $3 hour rate vs having to pay $4 hour (4-5 hours of parking) or ($5.60 an hour for 5 hours vs $4.66 an hour for 6 hours) Aventura Mall and Dolphin Mall
Charges Shoppers NO PARKING FEES.

plus…add the time to eat something and not rush because of parking costs…..sounds kinda expensive…i agree longer should get a break

If you shop here for that long, you probably don’t care about $3/hour parking because $15 won’t dent your Christmas budget vs the 5 hours you spent at Saks. Stores don’t want high maintenance shoppers from lower tax brackets (also mitigates risk against shrinkage).

Not Dolphin Mall. Not condoning the rates either, but one could argue it’s fair because it is on par with street parking (which is a ripoff). Maybe some stores or restaurants will validate.

Force people to walk and use transit or pay the price. Love it.

Don’t worry , in few months when there will be lack of clients in the stores , will be free again ……. and guess who will pay for the cost of the parking ? ….. all those brands !!!

I visited it yesterday and it was packed with shoppers.
