Bridge From MiamiCentral To Government Center Now Under Construction

MiamiCentral is getting a connection to Government Center.

All Aboard Florida filed a Notice of Commencement last week that construction was beginning on a pedestrian bridge linking the two transit hubs.

Government Center is a four-level Metromover and Metrorail hub with millions of annual passengers. It also includes a platform for a future east-west Metrorail connection.

MiamiCentral will include Brightline and Tri-rail service, along with retail, restaurant, office and residential space.

Thought Amtrak was leaving Miami. It’s slow and expensive and doesn’t go many places people would use it to go. Planes are much better.

There is a big opposition to this project past WPB. I guess some Floridians find high speed trains to be to Progressive. Do they want make Florida into some sort of European country? some will say.
