Brightline Begins Selling Tickets To Orlando, With 16 Daily Roundtrips & Kids Tickets At $39

Brightline has launched ticket sales for its new train service to Orlando.

For now, tickets are available from September 1 and on. The company plans to release tickets for earlier dates in Summer 2023 once it has a firm launch date.

A total of 16 daily round trips are scheduled between Miami and Orlando. There will also be additional dedicated trains continuing to serve the Miami to West Palm Beach corridor.

According to a Brightline press release, even its least expensive class of service (known as SMART) can be called business class.

Passengers in SMART class will enjoy hand-stitched leather seats, complimentary Starlink WiFi, multiple power and USB outlets and an array of food and beverages available for purchase.

A press release said that kids tickets are priced from just $39.

For a family of two adults and two children, pricing on Brightline’s website is showing at $197.50 one way, which works out to be just over $49 per person.

There also an option for Premium tickets, including a dedicated lounge, better seating, and free snacks and drinks. Those tickets start at $149 each way.

This is great. As the inefficiencies of automobile-only transportation systems come to light, more alternatives will be proposed. Thankyou, Brightline.

Brightline has said multiple times about a 3 hour trip from Orlando to Miami. The current schedule is 3 1/2 hours.
They can run express trains, but do not currently have sufficient equipment to run express service and hourly service between Miami and WPB.

Brightline showing America that trains CAN work. Hopefully more train systems spread like wildfire after seeing Brightline’s success

Then drive. What nobody talks about is seeing what people value their time. Not having to drive is GREAT.

I’d have more fun driving my sports car to Orlando than I would have by spending time in Orlando. Disney is great if you’re 12 or under.

You’ve clearly never been to Epcot

Agree. Unless you are traveling solo or you are tourists going one way, otherwise I find it hard to justify $316 roundtrip for a couple going Miami to Orlando for a weekend, plus, taking Ubers in Orlando to go to the parks, hotels or restaurants.

Im still confused as to why they made a stop in Aventura. That’s something that the MetroRail should have been considered for. Its too expensive to commute for the average person or even just to go to the mall. Metrorail needs to be expanded!

It will in 2O-4O years. Brightline just did it faster.

Existing track is right across the street and Metrorail has a proven track record of broken promises for expansion. Along with other stops, Coastal Link will serve the corridor on the commuter side. Leave Metrorail expansion where tracks don’t exist, like South Beach and Doral.

Gosh that’s very expensive and not comparable to Europe … In comparison, i paid 20GBP from Belfast to Dublin for a 90 minute trip. Three hour trip on the Eurostar was 40gbp

Tony

So a 3 hour trip on Eurostar was $50 (40GBP = $50 USD), and this 3.5 hour trip is $59. That seems in line with Europe, not “very expensive”

There’s something beautiful about seeing almost hourly trains going to and from Miami to Orlando, it opens up so many possibilities!

Universal is more closer to international drive so a station there would be better, theyre currently in talks now.

It is also closer to other theme parks and could help revitalize the “off the beaten path” areas in the shadows.

It was Disney’s own choice not to have one on property. They were selfish & wanted the track routing to parallel Rt 417, bypassing the rest of Orlando, especially Universal.

Once Orlando determined they could qualify for Federal Funding assistance if the route instead went through the City & served a higher population, Disney pulled out from discussions.

Universal then took the opportunity to offer land for a Station adjacent to their new Epic Universe theme park, which will also benefit the nearby Convention Center.

Don’t worry, there will eventually still be a Lake Buena Vista station, it’ll just be across the street from Disney property.

Disney refused to give Brightline land rights to build a station

My understanding is universal and Disney are both getting stops

What l worry about is that Brightline has already bought vast acreages in its route and not one of the counties have the tiniest inkling about what a city is and we will get endless developments of houses and strip malls to put LA to shame and there go the east and north Everglades and the Kissimmee Prairie, and to hell with thed fast commuting promise. In other words, a stab in the back

A full three and a half hours now. It would have been a lot faster to drive everyone a limousine.
