Brightline Launches Ticket Sales, With Service Resuming In November

Brightline has opened ticket sales for its rail service between Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

Tickets are now available for train service that begins in early November.

Prices appear to be discounted.

Brightline riders can also now choose to buy ticket packs at discounted rates, or unlimited monthly subscriptions.

Ten-packs of economy tickets starts at $10 to $15 per ride, with first class at $25 to $35 per ride, depending on the distance. Larger packs can also be purchased for lower prices.

Unlimited monthly subscriptions in economy start at $240 to $360 per month, with first class at $583 to $799 per month.

Brightline began running its full operating schedule on October 15 in order to prepare for a resumption of service. Trains are being run without passengers in order to test the line.

According to a press release from the company, trains are currently running at 79 miles per hour along the entire 67-mile corridor, which is the speed that has been approved and authorized by the Federal Railway Administration.

Construction is now underway on two new stations in Aventura and Boca Raton, with both set to come online in 2022. Orlando is also under construction with service set to begin in early 2023.

Any update on the NE corridor commuter rail project?

They should have schedules that accommodate people wanting to see the broadway series shows in Ft Lauderdale but traveling from Miami. For example, a train arriving to Ft Laud from Miami at 7pm and one that leaves Ft Laud and goes to Miami around 11pm. That’s a huge miss.

West Palm has a similar issue – the last train coming from WPB to FTL used to leave at like 9:30 or 10 on a Saturday, meaning a late-ish night out (ending around midnight) up there renders Brightline not an option.

Considering the fact that the average annual cost of owning a car is around $8000 a year, this is a steal

“Considering the fact that the average annual cost of owning a car is around $8000 a year”

Source? That can’t be close.

If I had to guess, I’d say $5,000. So somewhere between the $250-$500 per month that you pay for a Brightline monthly pass.

Considering you have to own a car anyway.

I guess your not to good at math… $15 per ride… so to and from would be $30 a day so in 30 days (a month) would be $900 so how is $250 laughable? Try taking an uber that far everyday or if you own a car how much are you paying? Gas, note, insurance and maintenance?! What did you expect $100 for unlimited subscription man be realistic!

Any word re: Trirail into downtown?

With Brightline re-starting (finally) the only thing certain is the continuation of money hemorrhaging and loud excuses by Brightline’s very vocal investors. We can also be sure of the return of Brightline’s once to twice monthly killings of Miami’s great drivers. I know these drivers that get killed by the train should’ve been riding in it instead of driving.

Suicide by train will resume once Brightline starts up again.
