Buyer Closes On Faena Condo For Record-Breaking $60 Million

It is the most expensive single family residence ever sold in Miami, and it closed this week.

An unidentified buyer paid $60 million for the penthouse unit at Faena House, a broker told the Wall Street Journal. It had originally been listed for $50 million in 2013, before going into contract in April of 2014.

The duplex unit includes 12,500 square feet of interior space and 10,000 square feet of exterior space, and was customized for the buyer. A a 70-foot-long rooftop pool is located on the roof, with views of the ocean and downtown.

More than half of the 42 units in the building have now closed, the broker said. The number of units was reduced from 47 to 42 to accomodate requests for combinations.

The previous Miami single-family record was a 30,000-square-foot home in Indian Creek Village for $47 million in 2012.
