Canopy Club Developer Files To Install Two Construction Cranes Up To 668 Feet High

Canopy Club could become the tallest building ever in Miami Beach, and developers have now filed plans to install construction cranes.

According to a filing with the Federal Aviation Administration yesterday, the two cranes will rise 668 and 611 feet above ground – possibly the tallest ever in the city.

The Canopy Club tower itself has already been approved by the FAA at 546 feet above ground, or 549 feet above sea level.

The Blue and Green Diamonds are at a similar height.

The 44-story Canopy Club tower will include 337 residential units, and a parking garage with 577 spaces. There will also be a small amount of retail and restaurant space.

The developers have also filed for a construction permit to begin the building’s foundation.

A public park that is a part of the project is already under construction.

Construction on the tower is expected to begin in 2021.

Terra Group, Crescent Heights, and New Valley are the developers.

Beautiful project. Very glad the park is already moving forward and wasn’t part of a bait and switch scam that these developers pull

There was a bait and switch. The pedestrian bridge over 5th street delayed by years by developer.

Bummer! Is it moving forward now? Canceled?

That was not part of the developers scope. it was going to be funded by the city.

Would love if these were rentals, not enough high quality ones on the beach.

And there’s going to be a pedestrian bridge going over the busy thorough fare. That’s really good. They did say that the tower is supposed to be done by 2023 or 2024?

Terrible project. Market rate housing for full time residents needed.

Market rate housing is not needed at this location. This is a premium location and one of the only where high-rises are allowed in South Beach.

This is market rate housing. The mix of full time residents? Who knows, I agree I hope it’s the majority. But this is market rate.
