Canopy Club could become the tallest building ever in Miami Beach, and developers have now filed plans to install construction cranes.
According to a filing with the Federal Aviation Administration yesterday, the two cranes will rise 668 and 611 feet above ground – possibly the tallest ever in the city.
The Canopy Club tower itself has already been approved by the FAA at 546 feet above ground, or 549 feet above sea level.
The Blue and Green Diamonds are at a similar height.
The 44-story Canopy Club tower will include 337 residential units, and a parking garage with 577 spaces. There will also be a small amount of retail and restaurant space.
The developers have also filed for a construction permit to begin the building’s foundation.
A public park that is a part of the project is already under construction.
Construction on the tower is expected to begin in 2021.
Terra Group, Crescent Heights, and New Valley are the developers.
