Celebrity-Backed Rooftop Restaurant & Bar Coming To Miami Worldcenter

Miami Woldcenter’s Jewel Box retail building is getting a new rooftop restaurant and bar in 2025.

Villa One Tequila Gardens, co-founded by celebrities Nick Jonas and menswear designer John Varvatos, joins a number of other retail and restaurant concepts coming to Worldcenter.

The new restaurant and bar will ‘bring the essence of Mexico’s finest’ to Miami, with over 150 tequila and mezcal options and Baja-style Mexican food.

KOM Studio of Mexico City is designing the 12,294 square foot rooftop space.

Worldcenter’s retail space is over 93% leased as of February 2024.

Anyone know why the Jewel Box has taken forever to open?

Sarah

Because they are probably timing it with the rest of the surrounding area. Just a guess.

There are already 30,000+ people living in tje Park West and S. Biscayne Blvd. neighborhoods

Anon

The current population has no bearing on the construction timeline – they are still leasing spaces out. People need to chill.

Anon

Because the tenants are still building out their spaces. Leasing is still underway, etc etc – have some patience

Anon

Patience? It has been years since the space has been ready for buildout !

They just broke ground on a new retail building last week…? Another has not even broken ground. People need to understand this is going to open in phases over several years – not all at once.

Many places have opened last year at Worldcenter and a ton more will open in 2024 so you will soon be able to walk out and get a drink, seems like you desperately need one.

Let’s go!

If we’re getting excited about an Apple store and Starbucks Reserve Miami has no soul left

Gordo

There’re only like 4 starbucks reserves in the world. I hate that coffee but even I’m excited to see what they build.

Sarah

What would excite you? I’m pretty happy about these and I’d love to see a Trader Joe’s, a TimeOut market and an Eataly too. I don’t know about “soul” but living in the era I’m sure excited about convenience and walkability.

Anon

Miami has no soul because the city has a booming retail market? Well alright then…..

Anon

There are dozens of locally owned businesses in the immediate area. Not sure why you’re so upset over an apple store and starbucks – both are pretty common retailers.

Anonymous

By soul, you mean low-brow nightclubs and abandoned warehouses?

calivalle

An Apple store that should never being there in the first place.15,000 SQ could of being put in any of these new towers. The concept of an open square its what this place needed for the masses.

Ever had a cuban coffee? Makes starbucks feel soulless

Anon

Yes! And there are multiple locations serving local cuban coffee in this immediate area.

I went to the museums and couldn’t find any coffee shops nearby, had to skip downtown to go back to Brickell. Coffee shops would be nice here.

Ut when everything is Latin based, having different choices sure adds soul and character.

How many years has construction been completed and still only one restaurant open… An expensive French niche restaurant! Crazy how long it is taking to open anything!!

Anon

Construction has been completed for exactly zero years.

French food is overrated. In a sea of celeb-owned sexy fish clones we need more latin. Miami latin food is the best gastronomy that our city has to offer. Restaurants like Hell’s kitchen and Sexy Fish are an embarrassment to Mia’s culinary scene.

We need really good Asian options – Chinese, Thai, etc – and not “fusian / Asian’. Real Asian.

anon

real asian and miami would never go into the same sentence sadly. sexy fish already trashed miamis asian food scene, but there are some rlly good authentic peruvian nikkei restaurants that are very japanese-based

Miami needs more dim sum. Surprised how hard it is to find soup dumplings.

I want some Korean spots!!! Give me some bim bim bop. It sucks we have to fly out of the state to get these cuisines.

More latin? You’ve GOT to be kidding. That’s all we have now!

Why no Greek restaurant, John?

Anonymous

I would love a Turkish restaurant!!

Kefalonia Delights

Sure, but it was more of an observation since Varvatos is Greek.

Anon

I was thinking the same thing! Turkish food and coffee is so good. We could also use a Moroccan food spot, the Moroccan brunches in NYC are so yummy.

anon

Because greek food is overrated plus its miami 😉 latin for the win

Kefalonia Delights

First, there used to be a very large Greek community here. Drive down Coral Way and you’ll notice lots of Greek law and doctor offices. Go to Woodlawn Cemetery and you’ll see a huge Greek section. This is why we have St. Sophia in the Roads. There’s still a bit of Greeks here, but obviously not like there used to be. Second, there’s an oversaturation of Latin food in Miami. If you think Greek or Middle Eastern (similar because of Ottomans) cuisines are overrated, then you should go to good Greek or Middle Eastern restaurants like Lira, Maria’s, Motek, Kabobji, and El Turco.

Shhh, don’t bother educating brainlets on here that Miami was on the map prior to 1959.

Anonymous

God forbid for actual diversity, which is not ninety percent Latin and ten percent overpriced craft beer and burgers.

Anonymous

The last thing we need is more forced diversity. Leave that woke DEI crap to California

Anonymous

We’re talking about food bro. Corruption failed Cali not a world class food selection

Anon

All Latin food tastes similar to me, with the same flavor profiles. Maybe because it’s all the Miami version I tried. Except Mexican, Spanish tapas, and Peruvian, which are unique and flavorful.
