I was there for the opening on Friday, the food and the drinks were great. The couch seating and the stadium rows were also on point. Definitely not for everyone but truly a nice theater experience.

Sounds like it’s great but you probably won’t be going there for every movie…if you have the opportunity to go somewhere else…

I probably will, I only catch a movie once every month or so, I really hate to drive or find parking, and I live a few blocks away from CMX. The only other theater I will probably go to is Silverspot Cinema at Met Square once it is built because the Metromover leaves you right next door to it.

I was there on Saturday, warning to everyone to try not to get seats in the last row because the stair bars will block your visual field. Also the menu selection for alcohol was small. But overall good selection.

I’ve been waiting years for this… My wife and I went on Saturday. They’re not a 100% ready yet, you can notice they are just opening. Food was great, at decent pricing. Popcorn was complimentary, probably because it was the opening weekend. Nice experience over all but it is not better than Cinebistro at all. Cinebistro actually feels more luxurious. Decor is not very high end. Happy to have it in the neighborhood but we won’t be coming often.

I agree cinebistro feels more high end.

Lmao the same cinebistro with the leather stripping off the seats, the service that ends before the movie starts and the the location out in East bum? Yea no thanks

Was at Cinebistro for a screening with free tickets. Never again. As you said, leather stripping off seats and theatre felt heaped. Besides, parking lot and the crowd in that place really feels like you are in an outlet mall. I didn’t feel a high-end experience at all.

You guys must be working for CMX… I’m the same anonymous who started this thread. I LOVE this type of movie theater and I’ve been waiting for CMX to open more than anybody else. Over a year ago my wife and I decided we would be there for the opening and all. I’m not saying the place is bad, it is actually pretty decent. But it doesn’t have the same high end feeling as Cinebistro. Not even a nice chandelier when you get in…that would have been an easy one. Only thing I think is better than Cinebistro is the seats, but even the movie rooms are not very nice… they look almost like the rooms you have as amenity in every new condo building… and I chose the room with the “better sound” (ATMOS or something like that)…which by the way is ridiculous. If you’re creating a state of the art theater, all the rooms should be equipped with the same high end technology. You shouldn’t feel like you’re in a lesser room because you paid $1 less than the person who was able to get a seat at the ATMOS room. This is just honest feedback

I definitely do not work for CMX and I recently went to Cinebistro. The comparison is apples to apples once you are inside the theater, but not outside, I mean come on, seriously it is at Dolphin Mall. On the weekend you have to fight traffic, find parking, plus the crowds inside. No thanks, I will take CMX every time.

Exactly I went to cinebistro at least once a month for the past 2 years because ipic in boca was too far. Ive had enough reward points with cinebistro to feed an army with the free stuff I’ve gotten. Im not bashing them but pointing out clear flaws in a comparison between both luxury theaters. I went to cinebistro because clearly they offer more than MOST theaters. However you are smoking if you can walk into each establishment and say cinebistro is more luxurious than CMX. And the leather stripping, service ending before the movie starts and east bum location is completely true. I mean come on bro its at dolphin mall lol.

. . Until you find out that your glass of wine or drink has been laced by the bartender at the theater; Merrick movie theater’s “Dirty Little Secret” and feel lucky if you still have your purse or jewelry on when you wake up – Seriously folks if you have fell victim to this – Report to the Coral Gables Police Department immediately, take the drug test at the hospital/doctors office and know your police report will not be the first however may the be one that saves a life.
