Construction Begins Tomorrow At Brickell Flatiron

It’s finally happening.

Work is set to begin tomorrow on Ugo Colombo’s much anticipated Brickell Flatiron, with the arrival of construction equipment at the site.

The site, which has been used as a parking lot for years, is being cleared of cars today to make way for the equipment.

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled to be held in mid-March, a source at the developer said.

When completed, Brickell Flatiron will include 549 units. It will rise 65 stories, or 734 feet above ground, making it among the tallest in Miami.

Glad to see this is happening tomorrow. To all the nay-sayers, I told you so.

They sold condos. Supply and demand will triumph what the word on the street is.

What a gorgeous building, I used to live at the Axis and the views now are blocked by Millicent and now this one, It would look so futuristic, I’m so mad that I had not the money to keep that apartment. Manhattanization was inevitable and everyone who bought next to a empty lot have to be clear that someday another Skyscraper might be built. If you complain because of this you should not live in any Downtown.

Glad to see that empty, ugly parking lot being filled with an architectural icon. However, the original Enrique Norten design was far superior. And Marc, what quaint village feel? This is downtown Miami. You should move to Ocala

Lol was meant to denote sarcasm. There was a poster here that was boohooing this project a while back describing Brickell as quaint a village so please go bark up someone else’s tree, pun intended.

Hey marc, I remember when I first moved to Miami in the 90’s there was this cafeteria right around where Flatiron will be build that used to sell tongue tacos, I kid you not, and there was nothing but trees all around the area and an abandoned firehouse station that is now Lolita’s. If that is the quaint village people want to go back to, move to Homestead, I for one love our New Brickell.

That was already done when those beautiful old trees were cut into pieces and removed. Real estate agents in Miami have such disgusting morals.

Another great building for Miami being constructed by someone who will get the job done.

There is no better joy than to see this city blossom and become a mecca for the growth of business in Brickell

Now we just need the Resorts World lot to be built on, thus putting the final nail in the coffin for these Nay-Slayers

Not really. Looks more like the future of Miami and it seems bright at the moment.

hopefully they move at full swing and they are not just moving dirt from one corner to another of the site….they have been the slowest selling job for a long time.

Flatiron, the building that clogged up and “flattened” the brickell condo market
