Construction Permit Submitted For 893-Unit Tower At Miami Worldcenter

A construction permit application was submitted this morning for a massive apartment tower at Miami Worldcenter.

The new filing states that a 52-story tower is planned to be built, with the following specs:

  • 893 multi-family (rental) units
  • 17,188 square feet of retail

Coastal Construction is listed as the contractor.

WG 700 North Miami LLC, C/O The Witkoff Group, is listed as the contact.

The specs are similar to a June UDRB filing for the first phase of a project at the former Miami Arena site. Eventually, the project is planned to have three phases totaling 2,346 dwelling units, 30,535 square feet commercial, and 2,078 parking spaces. The three towers are proposed to range in height from 52 to 54 stories.

The permit filing this morning lists the address and folio number for the Lalezarian Miami World Tower 2 and 3 site. That project was submitted this month to the UDRB with different specs.

Such a huge plot for an underwhelming project. They really dropped the ball here.

It floods so much more here. Brickell has no flooding anymore but this area is an always under water. Brickell is like Manhattan, and the river walk is like Hudson Yards. Downtown is like Newark.

Can they make these towers less boring?

I agree. The parking podiums need a mural of some half naked bitch gyrating her booty.

Such a big loss of opportunity, it’ll add a lot of housing though

Huge drop off from the original convention center/hotel proposals.

I never liked the old hotel and design, but now I’d prefer it over this monstrosity

Not sure this is a design for Miami. It looks like a prison.

The proximity of this location to the train station is a missed opportunity for utilizing prime real estate effectively. The initial plans that incorporated a convention center were unquestionably more aligned with the surrounding area’s potential. It is evident that the architects could have delivered a more refined outcome in their design approach.

Horrible!!!

This is a major disappointment compared to the quality that Naftali, Royal Palm, Lazalerian, ABHI, and Lynd are bringing to Miami Worldcenter. Witkoff is treating this as a plug-and-chug, and I really wish they weren’t given the site and the quality of the rest of the development.

Still better than Related and Merrimac’s disappointment a.k.a. “The Crosby.”

I drove by here yesterday….such a big lot at a very unique and important location. Yet we are getting 3 very generic buildings that all look the same and are the same height. How is this even approved??

These are fillers and that’s ok but for such a prime location it deserves some iconic structure not something basic like this.

What’s a good ratio of pools to units? This looks like it will have 4 pools for nearly 2400 units.

Interesting that all the current and past arenas/stadiums in the City of Miami are in line almost on the same street.

It’s totally idiotic, but it benefited one benefactor who pays for the commisioners to get elected so we’re all stuck with this – but going forward we can add cultural spaces to Brickell and West Downtown

Im very glad that they are covering the podiums with liner units on the sides facing the streets. The interior courtyards is a different story though…

No it was from I who lived in Wynwood – downtown sucks. It’s a drive over neighborhood to Brickell.

I feel like maybe these renders are not doing this building justice – maybe. It’s obviously a boring design but I don’t think the angles the selected are really helping show it off. They are actually not boxes – the are L shaped structures with a fair amount of glass and liner units on the podium.

These renders just look like stucco blocks. I hope as the project moves forward we get some new images that depict the building a bit more accurately. Where is the glossiness of all that glass? Where are the angles depicting the L shaped form? The building is already uninteresting but these basic renders don’t help.
