Construction Underway At Riverside In Brickell, Will Include Restaurants & Brewery With Seating For Thousands

Work is now underway at the Riverside Miami complex next to Brickell City Centre, newly taken photos show.

Riverside will open at the end of August and include:

  • 120,000 square feet of outdoor and indoor air conditioned spaces
  • 750-seat food hall
  • Miami River Brewery taphouse and beer garden
  • Asian and steakhouse restaurants
  • Fast casual food including Le Chick, Old Lisbon and Morgan’s
  • Boardwalk along the river with artwork

Total capacity is expected to be around 2,000 people.

This will be great except that most places will be empty. Everytime I go to La Centrale, I’m the only one there. Imagine if there’s more competition. I know it sounds incongruous but the more parking they build, the less people will come.

Try the cacio e pepe at the pizza/pasta place at La Centrale. I couldn’t believe how good it was. Been there 3 times now, still great.

The other day I may have walked 20 minutes looking for a decent place to have breakfast. Walked into La Centrale and the choices were minimal and over priced. Sort of weird sitting areas, it felt like it’s designed for takeout and it was dead.

I live in Brickell and disagree. Obviously it isn’t as lively as during the weekend, but I’m consistently (pleasantly) surprised by how many people I see walking around during weeknights

So sad, this is supposed to be city central, next to the bay, lots of 5 star hotels, top notch restaurants and it’s eerily dead. You guys should see the beehive activity at Cityplace in Doral everyday of the week with no transit or any of the pluses mentioned here.

CityPlace Doral sucks so bad, Related had to change the original CityPlace’s name in West Palm Beach to distance itself.
