Construction Underway On 270-Unit Tower In North Beach

Construction appears to be underway at 72nd & Park in North Beach.

According to a presentation to a city board, 72nd & Park is planned to rise 22 stories and include about 270 units, of which 121 units are micro or co-living units.

The proposal also called for 326 parking spaces, and around 12,000 square feet of retail.

Arquitectonica is the architect.

“Too much parking.

Now I don’t have to spend a dime of my money to buy the site and construct this and other buildings and I do have a space to park my vehicle where I live. But, I can tell you everything that’s wrong with anything that people undertake on this planet and gosh darn it, everyone should consult me before they partake in anything!!!

Surprisingly, it looks better than a lot of South Beach’s proposed squat boxes.

As much as I like progress, as a North Beach resident most of us believe this building is not right for the neighborhood, and it’s outrageous they approved such a tall building for this location.
