Woah! What a fast-moving development. I can think of 6 hotels in Brickell & West Brickell that have been proposed with no new details for years.

I can think of a most important one at MWC with a convention theme that for years and years has been proposed and not a grain of dirt has been moved.

It’s a mirage it aint happening

Fine with me, the proposal is awful. Flip it and strike a deal to acquire the crummy post-war apartment building and 7-Eleven for something more solid.

Anonymous

yeah like the one proposed next to Mary Brickell that had the chickens on that lot.

Anonymous

is that the lot with the apartment house and the 7-11 adjacent ?

Anonymous

yeah that one, that lot has been empty for years.

POLO

This is a great infill for the area.

I could not be happier. Brickell could use another roof top bar. The one on East called Sugar is nice but it is too damn crowded. Hopefully this one will not be as bad. These two projects sure will change the look of this block. However, I will always miss El Eden, great memories in that place, lol.

Yes, it’s horribly crowded, the last couple times we were there, waiting time was 45 minutes. So we left.

Same here and even when you do finally get in, you have to wait over 20 minutes just to get a drink. What they need to do is put two smaller bars on the side. I love the view from there but my wife and I have given up on it, we love rooftop bars though and look forward to this one and the one in OKO.

also, a rooftop bar planned at the new OKO office tower. Hopefully, we get a dozen more in the next few years.

The Starlite East won’t suffice ? 😉 lolol

is that one above Icon Brickell still one ?

Finvarb has been doing some great work lately.

Awesome, keep stitching together holes in the urban fabric and the critical mass will make it easier for more and more awesome to happen!

It appears that Brickell City Center has created the opportunity for the new Brickell hotels to enter the market away from the bay. Between this project, the new Citizen M, and the new Virgin Hotel, that’s about 750 new rooms for hipsters, in addition to the 900 recent rooms at East, SLS Lux, SLS Brickell, Atton and Aloft. That’s about 1,650 new hotel rooms all within a few blocks of each other. Then there’s going to be the 1,300 new rooms from the condotels – Natiivo and YotelPad downtown, and Smart Brickell.

Is there going to be a reason to stay at an older downtown hotel anymore?

time for some renovation.

Wow, they got started on this one fast!
