Construction Will Begin Soon On Modern New Publix In Sunny Isles Beach

Publix is moving forward with plans to build a modern new store in Sunny Isles Beach, replacing the existing store which will be demolished.

On June 30, a representative of the grocery chain signed a Unity of Title that will allow development to proceed.

The plan includes two phases of construction:

  • Phase 1: 53,558 square foot new store with an enclosed garage
  • Phase 2: 21-story, 357-unit residential tower with 501,038 square feet of FAR

According to the Sunny Isles Planning & Zoning Department, construction is supposed to begin sometime in 2016.

Kobi Karp is the project architect.

Sunny Isles does need this supermarket .. for those who think our elderly could walk to aventura are silly people. In sunny isles they have been accustomed to walking just about everywhere getting all they need right on the beach. The other supermarkets are too far. They do have a bus that runs but with the power chairs it’s too much. My daddy enjoyed going there and so did I. We look forward to its return. Come on Publix .. we can hardly wait.

As if the traffic isn’t horrible already. Smdh. Ridiculous how the city spends money. The roads are crappy with potholes but the buildings are superb. Morons

Don’t care as Sunny Isles is too far from me.
But will we ever get another supermarket chain that is not as pitifully horrible?

Our elderly who live on the beach have loved strolling to publix daily and getting fresh produce and items. Yo ask them to change their schedules and load up on a bus to go to aventura is redicilious. What do you propose they put in its place?
