Contractor Sign Installed At Site Where 41-Story Hub Miami Planned

Contractor Coastal Construction has installed a sign at the site where the 41-story Hub Miami is planned, according to Ryan RC Rea.

The development was previously known as Miami Station.

Several brokers are now advertising on their websites that units at Hub Miami will be sold as luxury condos. Buyers will be able to rent the units on a short-term basis on sites such as Airbnb, the websites say.

Office space is planned on the lower levels of the building, with residential on the upper floors.

Plans filed with the city by a previous developer showed the project would include 306 residential units, 245,000 square feet of office, and just over 7,000 square feet of retail.

Earlier this year, the “shovel ready” site was sold to Chicago developer The John Buck Company, BH Group, Florida Value Partners, and Pebb Enterprises.

So glad to see condos instead of apartments! We need more ownership opportunities in the core.

They’re gonna be Airbnbs

Even so, many residents will live there year-round.

Nobody lives in AirBnB buildings and selling office space in a building with a lobby full of rowdy drunken college kids (or worse) is going to be impossible.

City of Miami needs to place restrictions on Airbnb, like requiring 60 day stays minimum (I’d be good with 2 weeks).

Agreed. NYC took measures finally. Hopefully miami is next.

No one lives permanently in an Aibnb bldg…no one wants to be in a lobby full of tank tops and carry ons

There is no such thing as an “AirBnB Building”.

I know people who do. Does that mean your statement is wrong?

Please read the above carefully.

Owners “will be able” to market on websites such as AirBnB.

They can also market on Marriott Homes & Villas.
They can also market on Furnished Finders.
They can also market in the Miami Herald classified section.
They can also market on The Next Miami.
They can also market on Craigslist.
They can also market with any local Realtor who wants the headache.

Owners can also………NOT…. market. The owners can live in the apartment for 365 days a year. Or, give their apartment to some downtrodden millennial who finds walking the streets impossible. This liberal allows property owners more freedom and liberty to control their property as they see fit.

Allowing individual owners to have the same flexibility of use as Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, etc is perfectly fine. Allowing private property owners MORE flexibility and Freedom is even better.

If it gets built, it will be a great addition to the area.

This area is a nice hidden gem. Going to be nice now with everything in walking distance and still Airbnb’s available.

20 minute walk to Wynwood. That’s not bad, so long as that ‘tweener area is well policed.

Metro-Dade Police Department can help redeem Downtown with garaged office building on NW 1st Avenue and 2nd St instead of current waste of lot resources.

2 min walk to Miami World Center restaurants, 5min walk to the arena, 2 min walk to catch a metromover to either BCC, museums, or anywhere in between

Miami Station is a better name, but this is a nice, modern offering in a great location set to finally rise with much needed inventory directly in the core of the city.

True…this building will be located near the old train tracks about 2 blocks from ClubSpace. This area is deserted like a ghost town. I walked from Park West to there, when I told my friends they said what??😳 then looked at me as if I had 3 heads and just landed from Mars 🤦🏼‍♂️

Yes, it’s incredible that from an asphalt wasteland developers are creating a new world-class neighborhood. Definitely a feat to be respected.

This building is about 8-10 blocks from space. It’s not at all in an area deserted or a ghost town. it’s across the street from Miami Central, Miami Dade County Offices, Publix, Einstein Bagels.

Not to mention the Brightline lobby is practically downstairs. The new Target store and all the other shops that are scheduled to be completed by this time next year on adjacent corner

Beautiful, glassy tower. Don’t know why so many other proposals are cheaping out with stucco.

You answered your own question – cheaping out.

Why so many other proposals cheaping out with a flat-roofed box?

Flat roofs are pretty typical in Miami.

A new Lawson Building with parking garages and additional missing or enhanced civil services in Dade would make entire block useful.

Nice tower, the parking ratio isn’t bad. However, couldn’t they use some more glass around the base? Glassy is always better, especially to hide mesh metal.
