Could This Tower Replace The Mexican Consulate In Brickell?

Another mixed-use project could be in the works in Brickell.

Plans for the 1399 Southwest Tower recently appeared on the website of a ODP Architects, a local firm. ODP is the architect of record for Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum. It isn’t clear who commissioned the work.

If built, it would replace a small office building next to the Infinity at Brickell condo tower and down the block from the under-construction SLS condo/hotel tower. The Mexican consulate occupies 23,000 square feet of the 34,935 square foot office building, on a ten-year lease that commenced in 2012.

According to the plans, the new tower would include residential, hotel and office uses.

I’m on my knees praying that this sexy looking piece of architecture goes up to 1049 feet. That is the sexiest slickest thing I have seen in a while. Beautiful. ???

Best design of a new tower proposed since the Zaha Museum tower. Unfortunate that it’s so close to Infinity and will have most of east facing views blocked

Here’s the link to their website with their description:

1399 Southwest First Tower

Located at SW 1st avenue, extending the full block between SE 13th and 14th Street, the tower is located in the heart of the Miami Financial District. This site is uniquely situated in one of the last zones to have an allowable height limitation of 850′ in the Brickell area.

1399 Southwest First Tower represents a new chapter in high-rise residential design for Miami. Waterfront lots with unobstructed views East can no longer be found. Miami architecture must now find solutions to the more urban infill type of sites that are emerging in the very dense downtown area. Constrained with existing towers blocking the key view corridors, this new type of architecture must respond in a holistic way to create viable economic use of these sites. 1399 Southwest First Tower accomplishes just that.

Infinity at Brickell will have no views

The units on the very top floors have gorgeous preserved views to the NORTH over the entire skyline because of the school and smaller condo buildings directly north (Millecento, Axis, and Vue—all about 40 floors) There are also tons of water views on the SOUTHEAST side of the building from the highest floors that will be there even after China City builds.

Beautiful design but knowing Miami it will be dumb down to a basic design or won’t happen all together.

Oh my god, this looks amazing. Way too good to be true. Best design I’ve seen of any city in any country for a long time if ever. The view from the west literally speaks to me. The best Jetson/Dubai crossover, but better than both: neo-future space age.

I guess not that many people speak to you. It is cute but get a grip dude.

I guess Infinity is destined to be the meat in this sandwich with SLS on one side and this building on the other.

At least it looks like there will still be views from the rooftop deck for those of us on the 40+ floors with this design. The best views in Infinity are to the north over the entire skyline (from the top 6 floors) and to the south over the bay (though that will change somewhat too.)

Looks like its not that tall… Hopefully they up the height on this baby to 80-1000 so you can see the beautiful of it from miles away

Sorry 800-1000ft

Ae you kidding? Renders are often exaggerated but this is shown at least 800 feet and with at least 65 floors. With office space being over 10ft/floor and the residential probably being at least pseudo luxury, it could edge in near 1000 feet as is.
